My bad experience with Rebeltech

And we wonder why service is generally so crap in this country. People think that a quote is no longer binding, and that we as customers should just be happy to accept re-sellers going back on their advertised prices. That is a crock of crap in my opinion. ESPECIALLY, with the amount of competition there is. I would think that re-sellers would be of the thinking that the customer is doing them a favour and not the other way around and that a re-seller needs the customer a hell of a lot more than the customer needs the re-seller.

That's the beauty of the free enterprise system. The service sucks, you never come back and you spread the vibe across the internets. On the other hand, sometimes one accepts cr-ppy service in exchange for a better price, such as when, you don't need the item quickly.

So it's good the OP posted his experience. Now buyers can know what to expect. On the other hand RT's stuff is usually much cheaper than Incredible which has less variety and higher prices. IC however has a nice 1 week refund policy and it's easy to return an item. Makro has a two week refund policy, no questions asked.

Lucky thing there is a huge middle ground! Titan Ice has a physical address (as IC/Macro), with loads of SOH, and offer v.low pricing (v.near RT).

Their service is impeccable while stocking a huge variety. And where else will you find top notch products like Lamptron, XSPC, AlphaCool and many more?

I can vouch for Titan Ice, been buying from them ever since I came here. Their prices are fair, service is excellent. Had a few stuff replaced/refunded at them and never had a problem.

Oh! Browsing their website, I notice 90% of the items on there are out of stock. Looked at the Bitfenix Prodigy as an example. Average price everywhere else= R850 ... their price = R1049 (but no stock anyways). Ok then...?

All the importers are closed @ present. At present, the items listed as available, is the stock kept at their retail outlet. And YES, they ARE open for business. While all other are closed (as the others do not keep stock, cant source it, cant sell any - no point for these to try service the crowds.)

You're pricing averages seems a bit skew there!

Okay then . . . .!!!!!

Ok then... sorry, my maths failed me. Let me correct it ...
Bitfenix Prodigy case@ Rebeltech= R796 Wootware = R848 ComX Computers = R815
The total of all 3 = R2459 divided by 3 to give an average = R819.67 AVERAGE PRICE. elsewhere. At Titan Ice, R1049.

Sorry about the 'skew' average, but fixed now for your sake.;)

PS: This is just 1 item taken as an example . I could give you others too, but don't have the time.

PPS: No matter what the reason, the fact still stands that 90% of their online store says 'out of stock'. No indication of stock arriving soon or anything. Just out of stock. Which is usually a hint to prospective buyers to go elsewhere. It just works that way. The example I gave above shows as in stock with all 3 suppliers. Usually a hint that I need to decide who to buy from out of the 3 that were consistent in pricing and indicate the item as being in stock.

The only Prodigy listed @ Titan Ice @ R1049 is the Blue version. The exact same chassis goes for: RT R1005.00, WootWare R1071.00 and ComX R1030.

Sure, try ordering from one of the 3 stores you've listed! They are closed . . . . . So how can it be in stock when, 1) these 3 does not carry stock, 2) the BitFenix importers is closed until 6 Jan (Frontosa)?

Facts:
- Titan Ice is price competitive.
- Titan Ice is available when the others aren't.
- Titan Ice keeps stock, enabling us to source products when in need.

To knock them about listing items "unavailable" when it is in fact not avail . . . . .

And I can give you a hundred examples where their items are cheaper than rebeltech/wootware. Their pricing is on par with many e-tail pc shops here, in some case they are more expensive or cheaper.

What makes them attractive is the physical store, where you can check the items out before buying them, and if you ever have a problem you can just pop into their store and get it sorted out asap.
