now im hungry
South Africa’s biggest forum. Discuss, discover, and connect with thousands of members.
When you sell at these markets you want to make it look like you have something special, organic, home made, fair trade, grass fed... hipsters don't care about price, they want to see something that is not available at PicknPay
now im hungry
Strictly speaking the title should be 'My dad and me'.
Incorrect.
When you want to see if its correct you have to split it up:
My dad sells wors
I sell wors
My dad and I sell wors.
You use the "me" for posessive
The wors belongs to my dad and me.
The wors belongs to my dad
The worse belongs to me.

agreed, if you're going to sell it at a premium, you have to justify the premium and people aren't going to know it's premium quality unless you tell them about it. packaging and labelling is important in doing this - you need to specify minimum quantity of meat and max percentage fat. you may want to vary the fat according to audience however. hipsters want everything healthy (no fat) while other markets want things tasty (with fat). iirc food labelling can't make a claim any more about what it doesn't contain, but you be able to get away with saying "no preservatives, no cereal, no pork etc".
Incorrect. If the title was 'My dad and I sell wors', you would say I. But because the title has no follow-on, it should be 'My dad and me'.
Other examples (from film titles lol):
Marty and Me
Marley and Me
Roger and Me
The Prince and Me
My dad and I make and sell our own boerewors (as well as chicken sausage). He won the regional's for the Shoprite Boerewors competition a few years back, and his stuff is top notch/quality. Much better than the crap you'll buy at your local Spar or Pick 'n Pay.
nope... look at the opening post:
Acid, how much bru?
I swear this forum needs a dedicated section for Grammar Nazi's so they can reference a post in their new section and cite it for whatever faults they could find
Talked to my dad and he said R55/kg and (if I remember correctly... had a few beers by then) R45/kg for the chicken. His stuff is really delicious.
@others thanks for the suggestions. We have food labels on there, trying to get my dad to push the wors more on the people who buys boeries from him so he can create an awareness that they can buy it from him. Not sure if my dad will go all the way to Constantia to sell some, but Stellenbosh seems like a perfect venue provided they're not over-sold with vendors.
Lol... I'm not talking about the opening post though am I? I'm talking about the thread title.
But But but but but it doesn't matter! I WINZBut the title continues in to the opening post !
But the title continues in to the opening post !
****... now I really need some wors !
