I'll give Linux a shot when I've got a bit more energy. It's still disabling my Wireless once I boot back to Windows, which is weird, and I have to get used to the colourlessness

Ja, I also have the same problem.
40Gb is too small for two operating systems to coexists. Am looking at getting an 80Gb (or better) for my laptop. And then I'll see if I can drop in two 512Mb sticks

Uninstalled Ubuntu Wubi today
I needed the space. I'll get an external sometime in future then I'll try to use it again. It's a massive learning curve though, but I'll do it when I have the time.
Wubi didn't work for me on an external drive...
