My Hackintosh - Showoff yours

i dont expect the world to like it. Some love BMW some love Toyota. For me, it serves the purpose i made it. Theres no way Apple would even consider the design. Ive seen some great mods on the net - way better than mine.

Anyway for those who love it - thanks. For those who dont - its your choice.

I must say that I quite like it. :D Bit messy inside but that's understandable for its size. Maybe I will request one to be made by you one day. :)

That is aweful... sorry but the hack in the hackintosh is coming through... better luck next time and I am sure apple aint gonna be stealing that design for centuries to come if ever. :p

Your spelling is awful.

Mind uploading the pics where you did a better job?

@OP: I really envy you - being able to craft things like this with your hands must be very fulfilling. I think it looks pretty good. :)

+1 Looks really scruffy.
Don't you get that it's a HACK? And not just a script-kiddie (the real hacking to shoehorn OSX onto generic board is pretty much over at this level) OSX install but hacking a whole chassis together.

And when you take into account that he hacked the motherboard backplate/expansion slots mounting assembly into what looks like an entirely scratch-made box, cut not TOO badly off (at least on the front ones..) round holes :p for the speakers and did what whole funky mag-latch thing: unless you've graduated with honours from the Ben Heck School of Modding, show some respect, for it is due.

Dude, honestly that is a kuk job and if you don't notice it then I dunno what I more I can say to you.

.. the next one will be perfectly cut with a lazer - friend of mine owns a lazer cutter. Might make it out of metal then.
Okay guys to answer a few Q&A:
2. The costing was about R150 (the wood, wood glue and perspex)
3. Time - about 4 days (thats working on it for about 2 hours a day all because I planned as i wen along - If I had to make another it would take a day - Glue drying, spraying etc etc)

Ah, so you take exception to his hacking a trivial-cost project together, as a first-gen/POC *working* result? You seriously going to condemn it out of hand for being a little agricultural around the edges? But don't mind me, there's a better way:
anyone else got pics of their hackintosh?
...put up or shut up - can you do that much?

Dude, you or I for that matter may have made different decisions regarding the form factor; design; colour; finish... whatever.

Neither of us actually have done a damn thing... credit where credit is due.

@OP: is this your first project of this sort? If it is then take my commendations and multiply by 100. :)

Why do I need a case of my own to explain why that one looks kuk?
Has anyone actually seen some of the custom built cases on the net and the attention to detail? The one posted here looks like the result of a vomit gone wrong.

Can I make a better case? Yes, pretty sure. I used to make metal cases for electronic projects back in the day, also did a few perspex ones.
If that was mine I would not put my name on it.

Not everybody is into case modding and tuning cars.

Credit and congratulations where it's due, but each to their own.

OSX on a hackintosh is a fine example of lipstick on a pig...

Dude, can you not see that you are being a dick?

Fantastic work - Can't believe you achieved that with only R150.
