What is expensive ?
These guys look like wholesalers
The perspex in itself is not cheap, maybe you are lucky but price it. Maybe they have offcuts of the right thickness to make a sturdy box. be prepared for a lot of elbow ghries!

Mine was cheap because its only two sides - one side 2mm and the other 6mm. The whole case is made out of wood and not perspex.

Always good fun seeing threads loose their focus...

Perhaps I can put it back on track...

My current Hackintosh builds:

Hp Mini 311
Chameloen Triple Boot. Mac OS, W7 Ultimate, Ubuntu Netbook Remix
Snow Leopard 10.6.2
Intel Atom N270 1.6Ghz
3GB DDRIII 1066
320GB WD Black Scorpion 7200RPM HDD
Nvidia ION - 256MB - HDMI Working!
Apple Wireless Card with Wifi(draft N) + Bluetooth working
External Samsung DVD writer working out of the box!
Battery life: Mac OS - 2Hrs, W7 - 3 to 5Hrs, Ubuntu NBR - 8Hrs.
Everything is working 100%

The Irony with the above config is that is ended up costing me close to what a Macbook would have cost...

Then the config I am currently trying to get right:

Asus p5n7a-vm
Attempting to get SL working - If anyone has this config working, please help
Intel C2Q Q9550 2.8Ghz
4GB DDRII 1066 Kingston Hyper X
500GB Seagate barracuda HDD
No fancy custom case.

Glad to see that there is some local actively with the Hackintosh Machines
