Alright. I've just ordered my new PC from Take 2. Here are the specs. (and please tell me what you think).

Bare in mind: I know the graphics card is ****e, but It's all I could budget for now. I've getting a R3k card in a month or two's time and this will be fine for now.

It was also tough when it came to deciding wether to go for a fast dual-core or slow quad-core. Instead I went for the fastest dual-core, primarily due to the FSB and other various reasons. Quad-core has it's advantages, but the none of them are needed right now.

Asus Intel P5N32-E SLi Plus Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 CPU - Dual Core - Socket 775
OCZ Platinum Gaming Memory - DDR2-800MHz - 1GB x2
Gigabyte nVidia GeForce 8400GS - 256MB - PCI-E
OCZ StealthXStream Power Supply - 600w
Seagate Barracuda HDD - SATA-300 - 8MB Cache - NCQ - 250GB
Gigabyte 3D Mars Full Tower Chassis

My DVD writer, screen, keyboard and mouse were all salvaged from my previous PC.

Ripped dude. Should have gone with Prophecy.

Here's what I would change:

Asus Intel P5K Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 CPU - Dual Core - Socket 775
Any Value type - DDR2-800MHz - 1GB x2 (You'll never know the difference unless you're gonna clock like a beast linked/synch)
Gigabyte nVidia GeForce 8400GS - 256MB - PCI-E (I wouldn't buy a card if I knew I was getting a better one so soon, waste of money IMO)
Isonic Modular 600W
Seagate Barracuda HDD - SATA-300 - 16MB Cache - NCQ - 250GB
Gigabyte 3D Mars Full Tower Chassis (Why a full tower, are you planning water-cooling, 3>RAID etc.?)(otherwise a lot of wasted space)

Oh well, as long as you've got money to burn, then hey, why not! :)

@MrE: Thanks for the website. I wasn't ripped that bad. I maybe payed a little more than I should have, but nothing I feel bad about or regret. I couldn't find some of the things I was looking for on Prophecy.

P35 over X38 chipset IMO.
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R or the Asus P5K.

I would have got a cheaper cpu and at least bought a proper graphics card. Or just bought the proper hey now, seeing as you said you're buying it anyway... Waste of money imo.

btw, MrE, how's your Raidmax case? Wanna get one, looking at the Apex case. Has anyone used it before?

omw rofling

9k for a pc with an 8400

o my word

why did you buy an sli mobo, u plan on sliing an 8400?

im sure for 9k you could have gotten

quaddie - 2.4k
gigabyte mobo dsr3 1.9k
2 gig ocz - 1k
8800gt - 2.5k
250 gig hdd - 800
power supply lets say 900
case 1k

10.5k

personally thats more than you paid, although get a cheaper power supply like a gigabyte 430 watt which is fine for anything below a 8800gtx

knock off 300
go for a 3850 vga card another 500 bucks
200 off the cpu price for a 6850

ouch man

10.5k minus 300 less another 500 less another 200

take off another 300 cheaper memory

R9.2k

ouch

The Raidmax is awesome for the price, I'm a little bit in love with it! ;)
They now include a front intake fan too.

Sweet. May get one, but I prefer the looks of the Apex, which is cheaper as well, but not sure about the quality yet...

Can you post a link? I'd like to have a look..

Man the computer is bought. No point in "you should of x10" now. That pc looks lekker and you will get ample mileage out of it! Enjoy!

@Zenbaas
That's true, but he did ask what we thought. :P

Don't have a link, but go to the raidmax SA website, they've got it there with some nice pics. The only place I've seen it for sale is Digital Planet, which makes me hesitant, but I think I'm going to buy it anyway, unless someone gives me a good reason not too.
