It's 7am and I'm standing in the cold waiting to vote...

There're about 100 people in front of me. The first voters are just leaving.

I just got back - was a short queue which was rapidly getting longer :p

I has a blue mark on mah fumb WOOT-WOOT!

Currently about 200 in front, 150 (and growing behind me). Watching news on Dstv Mobile trail... And updating facebook on the go!

Don't like people smoking in the line; at least we are moving. Brrr fresh start to the day (back to bed soon)

Probably the same here as I am standing in line, however more people are joining the queue that people walking out the voting station. Seems some "bandwidth throttling" is going on inside them doors. What I don't get is why it takes so long to draw a cross? I mean seriously do people come here and look at all the pictures first, decide on whose face they like the most and then do their thing. I still think they should scrap the manual paper process and do it electronic mark your finger, scan your ID via barcode scanner to check voters roll and stamp your ID, you proceed to a computer and cast your vote via touch screen. If Internet banking and SARS e-filing can be made secure surely this can also be achieved. Maybe even have the ID scanning happening on the Voting computer itself, but I guess that would take the anonimity factor out of it.
Just some comments in the time I have moved 20 meters.

Done. :p :D

Arrived at 06:45, 15 people in front, about 50 people in line when I left at 07:15.

Fun, fun, fun (almost in the sun). Hope people have suntan lotion... Stil in Q

Damn I thought I could get it done in ten mins, going to take a drive past and if there's a queue take a chance and come back later.

Think Q's wil be short later today (till after 6 when should get longer again). Seems grannies woke up and are arriving in droves...

Arrived 6h45
Done at 7h15.
Was only 15 people in front when I arrived. But when I left there, almost 200 in the queue.
At least it is not as cold as yesterday.

Can only see 100 chars typed on cell :( Q now stattic with grannies "jumping" the Q. Ah well... Hope a few voted yesterday already...

Pretty much. :D

DA is right at the bottom, second or third last...

Me also done.... went smooth.
Seemed to be some unhappiness with some folks... aparently it was anounced yesterday (I didnt hear) that you can go vote anywhere in the province, even if u didnt register there.... but the officials didnt like people coming if they didnt register : "too much work for them"

I imagined it would be more hi tech... it was plain & simple as usual.
I would think they should have people starting to count ballots from about 10AM... why wait till its all done?
They should've put in scanners... before putting ur ballot into the box, put it thru scanner... it picks up where cross is, sends to server, ... counting done. Then put into box for manual backup checking later.

Oh by the way... Wimpy gives away free coffee to voters... go show your marked finger, and get free Wimpy coffee :D
