MyBB BF3 Clan

Guys, can I request something? When you give intel on teamspeak please use compass directions?

Example: Someone says "There is a sniper on the other side of the market"
- Firstly, most of the time I don't know who said that(I'm still learning the voices)
- Secondly, I don't know where you are(or were), so I don't know which side the other side is.

If you said "There is a sniper to the east of the market" and I'm hearing sniper bullets whizzing past, then I would know on which side of this little crate to hide behind. It would also be faster for the team to spot him and take him out.

Forget about people spotting. It's been a problem since BF2 days. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one spotting. It does help if your team helps spotting.

I have to cry over chat often asking people to please spot...

I keep trying to spot, and then..... nothing :(
Please explain it for a noob :p Aim at whatever you want to spot, press Q (right?), and then?? I get the rest of the options, but never one for spotting.

If you tap the "Q" button it will spot any enemy in your LoS (Line of Sight) So if an enemy is hiding behind a box you won't be able to spot him unless he is hiding badly. If you can shoot him you can spot him. If you hold the Q button you get a commands section where you just move your mouse to the command you want to give and it spews it out to your squad.

edit: lol, typed queue instead of Q :o

Tap Q. Don't press and hold. If you get the other communication options, you've held it in too long. Also, I have noticed that sometimes I can't spot the enemy if he/she is too far away.

You see an enemy and press "Q" he gets a red triangle above him so that your team mates can notice him. If they kill him you get points.

I can be ontop of an enemy sometimes and it buggs

I need to move, or let him move before it spots him. Sometimes if they are running it also buggs and doesn't work.

In BC2 pressing q while running after a tank would indicate to the driver that you want to get in. Don't know if it works here, okes drive off alone.

Nope it doesn't. Used to do the same in BF2

Also if you pressed it while looking at a medic or support it would indicate that you need healing or ammo. (Doesn't work in BF3) I tried it. Even when the game says "Press Q" for Medipack / Ammo Box

If you have a mouse with programmable buttons, make one of them Q. I only use WASD, shift and space on my keyboard. Everything else is on my mouse.

In BF3, you by default have a icon above your head indicating if you need a medi pack or ammo. ppl tend to just ignore it

Press "Q" is a natural instinct for me, I am always spotting and shooting at the same time, unless I am using my gatling gun down the main tunnel :)

I really did not know that. What icon does it have if you get left behind by the transport?

Guys, don't get too hooked up on the whole spot thing.Yes it's great and helps the team but it is not something allowed in Clan matches. Get used to the idea of verbally describing where someone or a target is. Compas direction is not a bad one but landmarks help more.

Huh?

Even if you disable spotting it shows on the mini-map not on the game though.

And spotting must be done at all time, in clan matches or not. You need to be in the habit of pressing Q when ever you see an enemy or shooting at enemies.

Spotting doesn't work on the Dogaming League games, albeit not for BFBC2 league games.
It doesn't show up on either the screen or the mini map.

Although, if someone killed an enemy that you have 'spotted', you still get the points for that.

Yep. This was how it was with the league last year and BC2. They may change the mechanic in BF3 for league matches but I doubt it. BC2 worked exactly the same, 3d spot, slighlty spot on hardcore, no spot in league.

Yeah? Cause saying to the left when the guy is facing another way is confusing.
