My wife's exact words to me suggestion another Harties trip was "Not a vok!!" :crylaugh: her whole body is aching

People think being bike fit is a joke or bike people just trying to make themselves sound good, but it really is an actual thing.

I personally don't like riding with a pillion all that much

It depends very much on the pillion and the combination of bike.

Ultimately no passenger is always going to be easier but whether it’s a real pain in the arse or not is what makes it worth the effort.

My Street Triple sucked with most people on the back except my sister in law who is tiny and has abs of steel so you never feel her weight.

When I had my Buell my ex and I travelled an easy 400km a day without a drama as she was really into the bike thing and knew how to handle it.

My RS with fancy pillion seat, back rest, grab handles and suspension makes all the pillions seem much the same really.

There is nothing worse though than a pillion that can’t hold themselves in place on the bike and push all their weight onto you.

I've had a pillion on most of my bikes, but given the choice, I ride alone

When just trotting along, a pillion is a minor discomfort, but when wanting to ride a bit sportier, it's a hindrance

Yeah for pure riding sensation there is nothing better than going at it alone.

Then again on the Buell 1125CR I got so into the groove I forgot my wife was on the back...and she didn’t get back on a bike with me for many a moon. :)

But sometimes for the right kind of ride there is something about sharing the experience, then again you can do that with your mates on their own bikes too.

Riding to Harties to is like commuting to work with all the traffic. From my experience you have the motorcycle Museum in Deneysville,
Stonehaven on Vaal near Sasolburg, a couple of nice places in Cullinan and I am still looking for a decent spot near Magaliesburg after the hotel closed down.

damnit, i need to make a list of all these places. the roads at harties were just terrible, and nothing about it is enjoyable to be honest.... except the ice cold craft gin and tonic i had ;)

I think there was a recent viral video there showing sewage floating down the river.
