It's not just you, but I guess I'll get used to it, it might be a sign of things to come seeing that the new Husqvarnas have a similar naked rear design.

Husqvarna is not a very popular brand in SA, anyone have any info about their presence - parts and servicing, ok or wildly overpriced?

The 701 is R150k, that isn't a cheap bike but not the most expensive either, I wouldn't want to regret spending the money because of what boils down to admin.

Anyone here owned a Husqvarna motorcycle?

Can anyone recommend a place in the Cape Town area to service my bike. Still running with my CBR600rr. Just ticked over 27k km. According to the service book a valve check needs to be done.

Kinda bored of the 600 and looking to upgrade to a 1000. Do you guys think I should service the bike before I sell it or just inform the buyer its due a service and sell it for cheaper? The bike is still mint and barely a scratch on it. Was looking on gumtree and I think I can get around 65-70K for it.

I was looking at the S1000rr but its a bit out of my budget. Not looking to spend more than 80k and a decent S1000rr seems to be going for 130k at least. Realistically I'm looking at a 08-09 CBR1000rr or a similar year Gixxer.

I have been in touch with Bikers Warehouse, waiting to hear back. I cant' find a CT dealer - BW is in Northgate. I am prepared to go out there to test ride but I'd really want a local service center or accredited (won't ruin my warranty) mech in CT were I to buy.

Valve check on those bikes shouldn't be crazy money.

If you don't want to take it to Honda then I know [MENTION=13334]SlinkyMike[/MENTION] uses a highly recommended private guy.

As for bike choice I can't comment on that really, but did you consider the R1?
 
Finally decided to get my license sorted (only coz my expires next week Saturday)
Went to Krugersdorp on Friday, got a booking for this morning. Test took about 10 minutes.
I know that a lot of people say that if you try and do your learners on a smaller bike, but IMHO if you are comfortable with the bike that you ride daily, do it on that - I passed it on a 1200 Sporty with ease (no lessons, just a couple of YouTube videos and some pointers from KingMikel (thanks dude)
 
10 minutes?! Sheesh. The guy let you off VERY easily.

I like the look of the R1 but I haven't seen a decent one in my price range. Was browsing gumtree just now and saw this...

I've heard good things about this bike and I like the look. I'm mostly commuting with my bike to work these days so a more comfy bike seems like a good option for me.

He recently did the valve adjustment on my Duc Monster, reasonable price and flawless work. Even took the time to walk me through the process on an already open Desmo engine that he had there. Great guy.

Lane change is right only.

I had to do 2 swerves each way and an emergency stop.

My guy also gave me a full briefing before every part of the test, including walking me through stuff.
