Ok, I'm convinced my expectation of what good winter gloves should be, doesn't exist.

See above.

Stop buying no name brand stuff.

It’s amusing to me that after the first set from the same people didn’t do the job...you go buy another.

It’s like people who keep trading in their Renault for another Renault.

Even the RST "winter gloves" was much thicker than the gloves I had.

Yes without question they will be thicker.

You can’t have normal summer thickness cloves and expect them to hand super thermal properties.

Take these back and try the RST.

oh hell, mistype. I meant to say "wasn't much thicker" i had my gloves and them on, on each hand, I'll have to lie to you if i tell you I could feel the difference.

Then they aren’t winter gloves.

Winter gloves are very obviously much thicker than their summer counter parts.

It takes quite an adjustment to operate your bike when first switching.

I had/have winter gloves, as you could see in the picture above, which is 10times thicker than my summer gloves... but my finger tips always get cold... always.

Okay I get the concern now.

Can agree that my finger tips are colder than the rest of my hand generally as well, but then I also have little to no temperature feeling in my left hand so it only affects my right so always assumed it was just the reaching for brakes and throttle action that made it so.

Still I wouldn't say it's uncomfortable.

I feel you, but I'll try Sauronza's advice and get a name brand, I hope Motomate take back my gloves after two weeks since I bought them.
This morning I left home at 8:30 so wasn't expecting much cold, but 5 minutes into the journey just the right thumb was cold upon closer inspection I found a hole in the stitching so not at all impressed with the R800 no name winter gloves that don't work.
In my defence I didn't know wats a good or bad brand, the gloves did have a name but as I found out on this forum "Rider" brand falls into the no name category.

Alpinestars Santiago. Best winter glove on the market IMO.

So theses are what you use? And you hands do feel temperature, have to ask since I recently found out some guys ha e super powers of not feeling temperature....

I do, but I feel temps below 3 after 30km with heated grips etc.

Also, for those 30km I'm doing highway speeds.

I actually found when I take the high way (50km ride) then my hands are warmer because of the lack of gear changes and constant breaking.

My other commute, (25km ride) has no highway stint

Summer gloves + heated grips + barkbusters have resulted in toasty hands up to now during my morning and evening commutes. Commutes of Winters past have been with only summer gloves and no heated grips so I guess it doesn't take much to improve on that situation :D

My kneecaps do get REALLY cold though but they eventually go numb after a few minutes and since they're not essential to the operation of the bike it's not a huge concern.

I have a set of winter gloves I got for Christmas a few years back. I can't really wear them even in winter, because my hands get too hot and sweaty. Granted I've not tested them in this cold front we are having, as I'm recovering from a cold myself and don't want to get sick again.

I think I have these ones ( I know they alpinestars). They pretty good in my opinion . And they a lot thinner than other winter gloves I've had, which I prefer.
