On my way home, something broke. Can't change gears so limped home in 4th gear, clutch seems fine.

Hoping it nothing too heavy.

Triumph Tiger 800 XC

Luckily you have that immediately available torque to pull away in 4th.

Get it sorted ASAP though.

I am no painter by trade but I did my best. The pink beast is a red beast once again. Sadly the fuel tank stickers look very dim in comparison, but it is still a major improvement compared to what it used to look like.

Thanks! I used Rustoleum Painters Touch rattlecan, I figured if it gets scuffed up I can just sand it and repaint (had to do this a few times when I got some orange peel) and it's not too thick so it ought to be quite flexible.

Sounds like a stupid question but who are the reliable dealers in Cape Town for a used bike. I am a total noob. Petrol price and traffic forced my hand now.

BMW Donford Cape Town and failing that Stellenbosch.

BMW R nineT Urban GS: Modern Classic - Carfection

Most confusing piece of ass bike I've ever ridden from BMW.

And I love the normal RnineT...so I just don't see why anyone would want this instead.

Depends what type of bike you're in search of. There are plenty of used bike dealers, and each offering certain types of bikes....

Chickened out of the cold this morning. Traffic hasn't been too bad of late...

Not having a kid at school is problematic.

I am looking for something like a Ninja 300 or a CBR 300. I am a complete novice. Never been on a bike. So i want something cheap while I cut my teeth.

Good choice on starter bike, but they not easy to find. Best check out Suzuki South for a used Ninja 300. Depending on your budget check out the Yamaha R3. If dealers don't have anything, check out the used market on line Gumtree or OLX. You are able to get good deals out there

would banks finance these older bikes? I can probably buy a Gixxer 150 brand new but even I know that wont be good enough. Also what do i look out for when purchasing second hand? Thanks for the advice.

How far will you be commuting and will you be doing freeways?

Buying second hand, look for signs that the bikes been dropped, i.e. Scratches on mirrors, handle bars, levers, foot pegs, repaired fenders etc. Check for oil leaks and general condition of the engine which may be tricky with the full fairing bikes you are looking at, I don't know how easy they are to remove.

And then you found out schools were back yesterday? :)
It was flippen freezing, and today as well.

Last two days were especially rough in the mornings and my visor just wouldn't stop fogging up no matter what I try. Having to constantly open it up on the commute was not fun.
