Precisely why I never just assume it’s not the battery “because new” or “it worked this morning”.

If the fuel pump priming sounded funny/different it’s almost always due to low battery. And then the ECU simply will not even attempt to fire.

I would have tried a bump start if the NC allows for that which I would imagine it should.

I once had trouble starting my bike at work. Kept on dying and I was raging: Injectors? Fuel line? Fscking Honda?!! Try after try - cuts out.

...imagine how much of a poepol I felt when I realised I still had the kickstand down :D :(
 
Very stupid question. Did you knock off the kill switch and not notice? I did that once.

- Phone Honda... they say the ECU might need to be reset, please disconnect battery for 5 minutes and try again
- Disconnect battery

- Reconnect battery
- Same problem
- Phone Honda... I'll have to take it in

Wanted to ask that, too. Happened to me once, though I think I got pranked by someone, because I never use the kill switch. Needless to say, took me a while of troubleshooting, before I realized it.

Favourite prank - ride past your buddy & hit his kill switch! Or, as robot turns green, hit his kill switch & ride off! :crylaugh:

A friend of mine, who did a lot of off road motocross type stuff, said their favourite pranking was riding up next to a buddy and then hitting their front brakes :wtf:

Test the battery - or if you don't have a multi-meter to test, try to jump start it with the car
Also not sure how the DCT works - but remembering back to the car days, had a similar issue (just that there were no noises) but it was actually that the car wasn't engaging in park properly. moved the gear to Neutral and it started perfectly, although the newer cars do not start in Neutral, they have to be in Park :whistle:

The DCT box will move itself into neutral as soon as the engine stops and the wheels are not moving.
 
Hmmm, Honda is useless.

But... Go to bike, put on/off switch to OFF.
In quick succession I do the following:
Ignition ON
Engine ON
Start

And then I get a little engine turn... With noise still persisting. I think this is a battery issue. Will run to get a multimeter after the meetings...

What should the charge be?

Doesn't anyone there have jumper cables?
