Ah, Fire-it-Up is fantastic! After all the car dealerships etc. I've dealt with over the last few weeks, it's nice to have a company do exactly what they say they will do and do it efficiently.

Sold my bike. They came and collected it at 5pm, the next morning I got a mail with an offer, took my paperwork (10 minutes to sign stuff) and money was in my account the next morning.

On an even better and happier note - I'm now officially Honda free! No CB, no Jazz.... I think I still have a Honda keyring but that's about it.

Jislaaik, you guys don't like Honda at all. I'm a big fan. Had quite a few since 1994 and no problems at all. I haven't had one in over 7 years. Have they gone bad or is it just the Gauteng dealerships that's bad?
Asking, because I was going to buy back into Honda next year.
 
^^^ I've owned a VTR, a Blackbird, 2 CRF's & an XL500.

Never had an iota of drama with any of them. Good, strong reliable bikes. VTR & Blackbird were ridden hard, track (a joke on the BB :) ) & lots of road miles. Sold the BB with 125k km's on the clock & it had never been opened.

BMW, Suzuki & Yamaha on the other hand........

Only had one Kawa, which gave no issues.

Triumph had issues, but these were well known & well documented when I purchased, so I bought eyes wide open. Triumph SA were fantastic in getting parts & repairs, best service from all the makes I've ever owned.

As always, YMMV

Honda Sandton wasn't really a pleasant buying experience but they did go through an ownership change at the time. Never had a problem with a Honda bike.

My car though...well, long story short is that in its first year it went back three times for faults, suffered sloppy handy work and the third time they just serviced the car instead of fixing the rattling problem. So I've had it with their cars and Honda Rivonia.

Just overall not a good Honda year for me but I'm pretty sure somebody else will have the exact opposite experience. Except Fanie and his rats
 
I've only ever had Honda bikes, MB5, RVF400, CB750F, and now the the NC750, all very reliable bikes...

If only you never need support to work with these useless bums.

It's almost time for my 12k service, going to the dealership where I bought the bike. Let's see how they roll. The 1k service wasnt pleasant enough

RVF400 you say? Also owned one of those and still regret selling it. Did you know RVFMal by any chance? He also used to frequent these forums back in the day.

I commuted for the 1st time with a pillion. What an experience!! Not sure I'd do it again soon, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!

How many times did you need to tell said pillion to not sit up straight in the corners :p

She held you toight? :D

I never enjoyed having somebody else on the bike with me and fairly convinced that being the pillion is the most nerve wrecking thing one can do. I got on the back of my bro's KLR once while he was going up a muddy mountain road on the farm. Never. Again. Ever.

Once you can ride yourself it’s a terrible experience.

As with most things it’s best to take a virgin who you can teach the way you want things to be done.

Also smaller bikes with pillions just don’t work. Even a 600 superbike is a bit of a pain.

With my daughter as a pillion, I have to constantly remind her to stop trying to straighten the bike out. With my wife, who has never ridden a bicycle in her life, it is a lot easier.
