Or it takes another driver's attention off the road....

I thought it was because some bikers turned into werewolves as soon as the moon appeared. Must be hard to grip the handlebars when your opposable thumb disappears...

Or people don't turn on their headlights because they think since the moon's out there is enough light... Or it's a stupid study... I dunno.

I'm thinking quite seriously of downgrading from my 1200GS LC to a 310GS. I mainly commute on that bike with the long distance riding few and far inbetween. Having a KTM 690 for the dirt outrides and stuff means my wife can take the 310 when we want to go for a weekend away and I can take the 690.

I would need a test ride to see what it feels like at 120km/h though.

Issues...

Just buy the wife the 310 and sell nothing.

Because inevitably you’ll want to tour with her on the back again next year and then buy 1200-class bike again.

Slapdash, are you set on BMW or open to other brands? Would you not consider looking at a 650 or thereabouts?

Enough grunt for the odd freeway stint even with a pillion and the BMW 650 mills are very frugal

Well he has a 690 so another same class bike would be even more daft than a 310.

Whoops, I didn't read the part where he mentioned he already has a Kick Till Midnight

hehehe

Yeah I have a Killer Thrill Machine ;)

Then I'll need a bigger garage first, the 3 bikes barely fit as it is - and with effort.

Let's play another round of diagnose my bike problems on the internet!

Yesterday when starting up my bike to leave work, I was greeted with a single 'click' and nothing thereafter. Phoned my wife, who came around with the car and I jumped the bike and drove it home. Left it idling at home for about an hour. Switched off the bike, switched it back on and got the same single click and nothing thereafter. Headlight, horn and turn signals all worked though.

Battery is less than a year old. I'm guessing it's the starter relay or solenoid or perhaps a dud battery? Am I barking up the wrong tree or is this a good place to start my investigation?

Is it a honda and do you live or work near Fanie?

So my F800 is in for a service today. It unfortunately seems that they have now standardized on the F700GS as the loan bike. It is unfortunately a bike I don't like and BMW going back to the left hand indicator control frustrates me to no end.
