I have. it's a good bike. but I feel it's too sensible. the balance I would like is fun and responsible.

hows it at 130kph in 10 minutes burst?

The MT07 is very close to the 690 duke and will cruse at 160 , if you want to it will take you beyond 200 .
Small bike with decent acceleration and handling , slightly heavier than the Duke .
Nice all round bike .

i've been look at the tracer version, but i think i want the standard naked

I have the 690 Duke and that is naked , after traveling for more than an hour at high speed it literally becomes a pain in the neck , i have even tried hiding behind the gauges to get out of the wind a few times .
That is why i bought the MT09 tracer .

well, i will use it mostly for commuting in any case. but i'll look at both. the tracer does have more pillion space, maybe i'll like it when i see it IRL

Did some shopping for you.

These are all in that engine capacity and price range.

This is at Fire It Up in Fourways.

I should go have a look at these in fourways, centurion Yamaha closed down so will have to trek to linex sometime and test ride the MT07. it's peaked my interest.

if you want to test ride, phone ahead, there are floating demo models between the different yamaha dealerships

that's what i learnt today

Lol.

0 - Dead In 2 seconds.
A bike will only go as fast as you want it to. The problem isn't the power, the problem is the temptation to ride like a maniac when it could be dangerous.

The MT09 might have a lot more power than you are used to, but almost all bikes nowadays have nice linear power. So unless you uncontrollable twitching of your right arm you should be fine.

I have only two negatives about the MT07, the first is that in Europe it's cheaper than the Honda NC but here it's more expensive.

The second is that you HAVE to get rid of the stock exhaust if it still has one. That twin needs to rumble.
