Nope cannot view last viewed page in longer threads.

I guess it will be nice if that can be fixed as I am not the only one browsing from mobile.

I will not DL apps to read here....
Browser only.

RPM,

Reasons why this current mobile forum view is not inviting, but rather discouraging:
1. It is extremely data hungry
ADSL costs are relatively low. However most people(that use mobile view) browse from their mobile phones and those do not often have the large, lower cost package
2. You cannot turn off pictures to force it to use less data, as it simply ignores your mobile devices internet settings.
3. The slowness of the forum, today is only marginally slower than the new mobile view. The older was faster and far more responsive and accessable.
4. This software does not allow for last viewed post in a thread. Imagine wanting to read from where you stopped in, say, the SIII thread? Or one of the longer sports threads?
This on its own is super frustrating, then combined with the above mentioned it is certain to discourage lurkers or posters from viewing on their mobile phones, making it likely to drop viewed pages and posts per day, rather than increase it.
5. Finding the latest posts/threads button is an adventure in its own right.

I for one prefer a more clean page, when viewing on a mobile phone, and do not enjoy consistantly scrolling off the side of the page to finish a sentence, nevermind an entire article.
On a 10.1" tablet the full site is "readable and postable" in the full format, however the above still applies to the mobile view.

So in my humble opinion this mobile view is not an improvement but rather a fail.

Note ::::: I have not, as yet, looked to see if there is any diffference to the browsing/posting experience of the full site.

If you went on a hunting expedition you would find it under menu...

Don't bother trying to go straight to last viewed or even the last page in a 10+ page thread coz you go to page 1 & then can only skip a few pages at a time ....

I was not aware the mobile site changed. Will look into it now.

The technical guys are on their way to replace a switch which seems to be overloaded. That means there will be a bit of downtime to make the change...

Hi there

I apologize for the downtime and slow loading on MyBroadband today. We are still working to resolve all the problems, but it looks like the site is already a bit faster and more stable.

There may still be a few hiccups as we try to improve the performance, but we hope the interventions will mean that most of the problems will be solved.

I know you deserve better from us, but I guarantee you that we are doing our best to make sure that we improve the situation.

Regards,
Rudolph

Jeez, almost sounds like ol' Mike Lazaridis from RIM apologizing to the world when BlackBerry crapped out.

Rudolph, it's NOT YOUR FAULT. More likely Hetzner screwed up somewhere, or another switch went to the electronic afterworld.

Please read my earlier post.

The murder causing format is currently there. Has been since sometime today. Was unchanged early morning. Then late afternoon I saw changes done.

I think I feel like ol' Mike Lazaridis during the RIM outage ;)

Thanks for the kind words, but I am responsible to ensure that the site is up, is fast and provide visitors with a great experience. We have upgraded some hardware (switches), optimized the site and made a few small changes (which you may see) to ensure a better performance.

Tomorrow will be the real test. It looks fine now, but I am sure that is what Mike said after the first BIS fix was implemented :)

I can just imagine how big the forum's db is. Time to delete the TKs.
