I have a MyCall 100 Contract, currently paying R129, can I convert the contract to a MTN AnyTime Contract? I'm with MTNSP.

Nope, you can only convert to a more expensive contract. If you upgrade and want to change to anytime100 then you pay a penalty fee as well.

I'm almost done with my MTN Procall 150 contract.

MTN Helpdesk told me I can migrate to a MTN Anytime 100 after the contract has expired.

I got a call today from MTNSP to verify/update all my details, and asked them about migrating my contract to the Anytime package, the lady said it will be free of charge to change and I should either call 808 or go to the MTN store to migrate it.

So I called mtnsp (808) and the guy said that it can only be done in store and theres a R400 migration charge. That's quite alot just to migrate to another package even though its in the same pricerange.

I don't know why MTN wants you to pay R400 to stay their customer. I think I'm just gonna cancel my MTN contract and get a weekender with Vodacom.

I've already moved to Vodacom for my 'primary' phone, but it's always good to have a 'cheapie' contract as a backup. I don't have a landline anymore.

They are sneaky buggers. MTN most likely wont tell you about the R400 charge until you are there about to sign on the dotted line.

Just an Update:
I went to the MTN Shop to enquire about the charges, the lady there called the dealer call centre (or something), they checked my monthly average charges and said that I can change to Anytime without any charges, so the next day I took the ID book and signed the form. The lady said that it should change to Anytime from my next bill run, which is usually on the 13th or 14th of the month.

My Contract was migrated to the Anytime Package last month on the 13th which was my new billing cycle.

Have you tried going into in local branch and asking them to do the migration.
