lol. naked ADSL in south africa, that is funny.
as long as there is a copper line connecting your house to the internet (any ADSL in other words) it goes through telkom. there is no getting out of it. you can move the line to an ISP, but they simply pay telkom on your behalf.
if you already have a landline, getting ADSL installed is actually easier than when you do not.
you have the option of getting fiber, if there are providers in your area, unfortunately I do not know if that is the case.
the other optin is to go with a Wireless service provier if they cover your area, but again for that you would have to check if there is coverage on the different providers sites.
alternatively you can go with the 3g option, but sadly there telkom mobile's LTE uncapped packages are the best value for money, if there is coverage in your area again.
