sign up for free and you can see if you have any issues on your name, that's how I picked up Vodacoms illegal "trying to bill and sue me" contract that was taken out in my name from a twat far far away, worth a squizz every now and then.

I recall many years ago checking my credit score with Experian, so I did another today.
Great score of 681!
I have a Vodacom account since 2003, remembered filling in those forms, something akin to a Bond application back then, there was so much legalese.
I only have one Credit Check against my name which was in January this year, from my own bank.
Still not trusting of any of these things, since being spoofed in April this year.
I and a Company we paid were spoofed in April to the tune of R26K due to a bank account number switch on an invoice.
All I can say is, it's not easy with these matters, you literally have to prove your innocence here.
The ISPs claim nobody was hacked; no emails were intercepted.
SAPS don't even call you despite both parties logging a case number.
Your bank is still getting back to you with their investigation as to the account holder, the fraudster in other words.
You're left holding the can, so to speak.
I learnt something I never knew.
You can put any name to a beneficiary on your banking; it's the account number that is important. Meaning you could call the beneficiary Mary Poppins, it doesn't matter, it's the actual bank account number that will ensure the passage of funds, not the name. After all these years of being in business, I was gobsmacked that I never knew this. Here I am painstakingly checking each and every added beneficiary that I typed out the name correctly.
- The banks need to change this; names and bank account numbers should match in my opinion.
If this was the case, we would not have been defrauded of R26K in April.
Sorry to have gone off topic.
The only debit order "fraud" I was party to was from Trudon (formerly Telkom Directory Services), Telkom's advertising, digital marketing, and directory subsidiary.
It published the official Yellow Pages and White Pages on behalf of Telkom.
It appears that Trudon had some enthusiastic marketers that signed up a lot of people.
The problem came when these amounts just started appearing in your Telkom account.
Phone Telkom, they refer you to Trudon.
