Nashua Mobile subscribers to be moved

Finally rid of them.

Never had a hassle with them but the fact that I could not buy a data top up via the Vodacom web site or through their portal has been very annoying.

It's contract renewal time. They actually called me two weeks ago to tell me this and SMS'ed me last week. Rather odd considering they are closing down.

Btw I never joined them. The company I got my first contract from almost 20 years ago was bought. They were bought and they were bought. Eventually ended up as a Nashua customer.

What if I don't want to move to Altech Autopage?
What recourse do I have?
I am fortunate that I pay Nashua via EFT. NO DEBIT ORDER. Will Altech give me this?
I refuse to sign a debit order with them!
My Cell C contract expires in January and I want to port to MTN pre-paid.
If my contact goes to Altech, does it still expire in January?
Tried to cancel my contract but Nashua want to penalize me R600. If I don't cancel it will only cost me R300 in subscriptions!

I've had a very happy 10 years with Nashua Mobile, having subscribed to multiple contracts. They've assisted me with porting seamlessly, always obtained the phone of my choice, sometimes before it went to market, and always received the best deal. I travel often, they've always handled my roaming properly, the limits on my contract set as requested, and billing never a surprise.
Their call center and local store has always been helpful, actually one of their managers now work with me.

I'm entering a dark tunnel now where I'll be receiving multiple bills from multiple providers. Will consider moving all contracts to Autopage where I can have multiple networks and devices under one billing.

I'll miss you Nashua Mobile...I'll really miss you!

It's all in the fine print

That must be really difficult for you.

Your lawyer should be able to point out the complete absence of recourse provisions in the contract you signed.

Altech will hold you to the contract while simultaneously changing the conditions of service, as you agreed is reasonable.

You may already have agreed to sign a number of debit orders.

It's all in the fine print. It should be fine.

The contract allows penalties of all sorts, and you agreed to it.

Can't say I've had cause to complain either except having to wait a bit longer for some of their specials to fall in line with the rest, but ja, life moves on...

Wow...... I don't know if you're the luckiest Nashua Mobile customer or if I'm the unluckiest....

I'd could go into detail describing every time they've messed up simple requests for data or data changes but I'm pretty sure there's a character limit to these posts so I won't bother.

For some reason Nashua just cannot get my data right. Their systems were either horribly flawed or were run by incompetent people. Something that could have fixed by by allowing people to top up like normal Vodacom users.

I'm with biometrics on this one. Can't wait to move over........ That is, if the move happens without any issues. Knowing Nahua Mobile I won't be holding my breath.

Nashua Mobile is famous for continues billing after the contract has been cancelled in writing. It happened to me and about all my colleagues when our contracts were cancelled after it ran out. Nothing irks me more than such incompetence. Rest in peace Nashua Mobile. You won't be missed.

They called again to offer to upgrade me.

So I asked shouldn't I wait until 4 Nov since you're closing down? Lady said no you shouldn't wait ...

So they sent me their deals. Not one of the new phones that I'm interested is on there (Samsung Note 4, iPhone 6 Plus, Sony Xperia Z3).

Think I'll wait ;)

You won't find an iPhone 6 Plus anywhere at the retailers in South Africa at the moment, even for pre-order.

as a company, we are with nashua mobile, and have 30 lines with them, will vodacom just merge them into one corp account?

If you have a company account with Nashua mobile with 30 numbers on that account, then that should be brought over onto Vodacom as is. The account number will change though.

Cool, hopefully the service is as good / easy to get things done

So today is the day and no notification from either Nashua or Vodacom. :(

When I log in to the VC site it still says "Service provider: Nashua Ltd".

On the Nashua Mobile site:

We have closed our stores

We continue to service our Vodacom customers until they are successfully migrated to Vodacom. Nashua Mobile will send you a SMS message confirming the actual date of cession (transfer).

Meh.
