Hey guys,

We covered this a while back when the Nashua R139 offer was first made public. To recap their wireless router was locked to their network exclusively.

At the time this created a lot of negativity as it should have! There were also mumblings at the time about the routers being unlocked after the initial 12 month contract period was up. I got a "possibly" on this point in verbal conversation with Steve Smith (General Manager - Infrastructure and Support) shortly after signing up.

Now the reason for this thread is to find out if anyone has got any feedback on this? Has anyone approached Nashua and got their router unlocked? I did email Steve a few days back but I have not heard anything...

Thanks

(I still have my Billion wireless sitting collecting dust!)

There is a thread in the hardware section on how to unlock it.

Thanks, man, I had seen that before but it is above my technical expertise. If someone in Durbs will offer to do mine for a couple of bucks I would gladly accept. I was hoping that I could get Nashua themselves to reflash the router for me.

I'm in Ballito and will do it at no charge. I actually want to attempt going one step further and upgrading the firmware to that of the normal production models.

PM me if you are interested.

Yeah sounds cool Ponder. As stated it is just collecting dust at the moment. I'd obviously prefer not to blow it up and turn it to waste but willing to try getting it working.
