'nuvva vote for Sweet Nothings' (or anyone else's, really) Xylitol: in MY quest to cut back on cane sugar I tossed caution to the winds and got some of this stuff - potentially dumbass as, to date, I've all but spat at the taste of every non-sugar sweetener I've ever had the misfortune to sample in my coffee ..it's that vile chemical bitter aftertaste they all have. Well, all the others at any rate as xylitol seems not to have it. Sure, it's not as sweet as sugar but, on the flip side you get more taste from the coffee too so we arrive at "different != bad" which is fine.
But now caution: you REALLY do want to ease into this stuff, and give your body time to get used to it! In the several cups' worth I had yesterday I went from all xylitol to 2 in 3 (I'm a 3-sugar junkie and, try as I might, I can NOT break that habit!) and I have to confess there were ....consequences.
Luckily only noxious chemical warfare consqeuences but MAN, I didn't even want to be in the same room as me and, as all guys know, it crosses a line when you can't be in same room as your fart! ...*ahem* ... so I'll be easing somewhat slower into it.
