I use sweeteners in place of sugar in cooking sometimes, so I bought some of that Stevia stuff today and gave it a try. All I can say is sweet mother of christopher. I hadn't read the instructions yet, just put a bit on the end of a teaspoon and ate it - beeg mistake! Heck, it was like my tongue fell into the Hullets Sugar Plant and died. I don't drink coffee though so can't test it out for you Ava...
@DJK: Why use sweeteners in cooking?
So it's also much sweeter than sugar? What was the aftertaste like?
Sweeten Your Coffee - Brown Sugar
Sweeten Your Coffee - Honey
Sweeten Your Coffee - Stevia
Sweeten Your Coffee - Cocoa Mix
Sweeten Your Coffee - Maple Syrup
In black tea, honey is fine. In coffee and cereal, honey just ruins it. Ok, never tried it, just imagine it won't be good.
Since I only drink tea about once very 6 months, but I like coffee, honey is out.
ANSWER: XYLITOL
If you use xylitol sparingly at first your stomach will get used to it. Only excessive use INITIALLY might have a laxative effect.
