Need a cheapie. Suggestions?

My source is the Car magazine April 2018 that lists the Clio three pot at 70kw and 140Nm torque.
The Sandero is listed at 66kw and 135Nm

I checked against the Renault website and that shows the three pot at 66kw.

It appears that Car magazine has misled me - my apologies!:mad:

I drove with my GFs I10 grand again this weekend, and low down performance is non-comparable. I would choose the i10 grand any other day.

The Sandero's competitors are the Vivo, Etios, Figo etc.

And it's not just the power. Hence you have to look at actual performance figures. I did say comparable or outperforms, not just outperforms...

Remember, my Stepway Dyn is R200k. Yes, with hind sight, I bought crap, but there was other influences in my purchase. I would not recommend this car at all and I am glad to see there aren't that many on the road.

Comparable power figures and 15Nm more available at 2500rpm compared to the i10's 120Nm at 4000rpm, the Sandero is a little heavier but it shouldn't be too bad, maybe there is something wrong with your car.

Bought it brand new. Not sure how there could be something wrong with the car and what do I say when I take it in. :p Maybe I should go test drive another one at another dealers. :D

Edit: Forgot to mention. Her steering is a lot lighter than mine as well. Then there are a couple of design "flaws". :-/

Your Sandero might be a hydraulic one while hers might be electric, also something to bog you down since the steering pump is connected to the belt joining the aircon in sapping your power, but I just can't believe how miserable you are with your new car, what were you driving previously?

Did you not test drive the car before purchasing? Is it possible you've got a dud? As I've only read good reviews on the Sandero

I've had a new shape Sandero for a short while and came away rather impressed by it so I'm also quite surprised by this. A colleague of mine has a Stepway and she loves it

I agree regarding both cars. Driven the Stepway and the i10 grand quite a bit. i10 grand is a nippy little thing around town and actually feels quite well put together even though there is tons of plastic (normal for this segment). The two Stepways I've driven (1x loan car and 1x rental) both felt laggy and pap with poor NVH. Pull the door handle too hard it feels like it will fall off...

Seeing as both are at the R200k mark, I would always recommend the I10.
