Need a cheapie. Suggestions?

Pretty sure a lot of you guys are focusing more on the price and not the fact that the main reason I'm getting this is to resolve back pain so a comfortable ride is more important than other extras albeit they would be nice.

Renaults offerings are nice but didn't like the way it felt :| sister has the Clio 4 and I believe the seats in the stepaway are the same?

Giving Tata a go tomorrow and a Fiesta in a little while after.

Which one? I doubt a Tata will offer much relief for your back pain, unless maybe they made a giant step forward in comfort on their newer models.

try and get a polo 1.6 auto. comfort, refinement, finishing and good ride and fuel eco.
 
I just read the OP. I frankly stunned that R150k is considered a cheapie.

I am clearly out of touch with reality or something.

actually no pinballl, again use your brain....

NVH is actually very important, carmakers have special tests for it
its the noise made when the car is driving, so you can actually hear the stereo over the road noise of your econobox.

so something like a diesel bakkie will have a higher value then something like a 1.1 liter city car.

I am well aware of the idea. It still sounds like a made up marketing term. I didn't dispute it's validity.

I didnt say it was amazing fuel eco.

I think its reasonable for a cheapie. One could suppose that hes buying 2nd hand and that he doesn't have a trust fund to cover any breakdowns.

My suggestion was geared also at long term costs and reliability.

Yes, newer smaller turbocharged 3 cylinder motors get u 3L/100km...

But i wouldnt touch them with a 10 foot pole. Cos when they break... And they do break... Turbos etc cost plenty

That's what warranties are for... :whistle:

And if you don't get a decent term warranty, you can always extend it to the max term for not much...
