Need a new modem

Hi guys

Firstly, I have a tp-link with dd wrt that i use as access point, so i only need a dsl modem.

I want one that would be able to handle torrents wonderfully. I currently have an Asus dsl n10 or something like that, and when someone on our network starts downloading torrents, the whole internet becomse unbelievably slow and eventually disconnects- even if the torrents download at the speed of 5KB/s...

any suggestions?

why not just stick with TP-Link, the 8817 modem is rock solid and costs around R250

Hi there,
The TP-Link is fine just use that.
If you have lan degradation then start to look at if it is just when downloading. or if it is that PC that is maybe having address conflicts. At that speed of download you should hardly notice it. Has someone maybe set QoS to favour Torrents?
