Need advice - Telkom Mobile cancellation

Hi guys

So I'm really frustrated at the moment but I guess we are all used to having frustration and @Telkom in the same sentence by now.

Here is the story, I've been on Telkom's Smart broadband 50GB wireless service for about three years and last year when my contract expired I moved it to a month to month service.

September 2016 I moved to a new place and subsequently I had very bed reception which made the service unusable. I continued to contact Telkom to check what the process is to cancel my service. I was given a link to download a cancellation from and was told to send it through to an email address and it will be processed.

Forward to today and guess what the service has not yet been cancelled and Telkom is continuing to take money from my account.

I have called Telkom mobile billing numerous times and have spend more time on the phone with them than I'm willing to admit. I have send to them the proof and copy of my email for the service to be cancelled and they said they would open a case to get it resolved and to reimburse me.

Now you guys can imagine how frustrated I am at the moment as R699 a month is not chump change to just throw away. Nothing is getting done, whenever I call them they just say that the case is still open and that they will email the person responsible to get back to me which never happens.

So my question is what is left for me to do to get this resolved as I don't know what else to do?

TL;TR Telkom is not cancelling my mobile data service and looking for advice on what I can do to get it cancelled.

Go to a store. My contract was cancelled in 5 minutes.

I did go to a Telkom store, they told me they cannot do anything for me from their side I have to contact Telkom Mobile billing which is as helpful as talking to a wall as they repeat the same sentence that it is being worked on. They have been working on it for four months which is just ridiculous and in the mean time while they are "working" on it they just continue taking my money.

I guess it's luck of the draw on whether you end up in front of someone that wants to help you.

I went into a store and the contract was cancelled there and then. Good luck. Persistence is key I guess. This is the very reason I cancelled with Telkom, I prepared myself mentally for this, but was pleasantly surprised about how they went about it.

I guess you are right, I'll go try the shop again and maybe I'll get lucky but I'm not optimistic as far as anything Telkom is involved in anymore. I was even thinking about moving my cellphone contract to Telkom but after this experience I don't want anything to do with Telkom and any of their services.
 
Having the same issue with a contract that has expired yet they still charge me for it even though I asked for it to be cancelled also with Telkom

It is really frustrating as it just feels like no one at Telkom is willing to actually help and do something about it!
 
Put a block on the telkom debit order.. Someone will call u, then u provide proof of cancellation to that person

Ask to speak to the manager at the store.. That will get u quicker action
