Need help setting up this configuration (If possible)

It works! I can finally browse the internet on the laptop! It was indeed the DNS Relay option.

Thanks to everyone for assisting me on this issue! Especially RoloTomasi and Smooth Criminal! I've certainly learned a lot! Thanks for the insight guys!

STATIC vs DYNAMIC

But again, it's just a workaround and not the best solution because if you connect that laptop on the network at the office or elsewhere, you'll have to change it back to "obtain DNS server automatically" every time.

Not necessarily

In XP , Win 7

As I understand you can configure different network "profiles" so you can have one profile for your home setup and another for your work setup.

Just choose which you want to use when appropriate.

It is also possible to setup a number of different DNS entries in the relevant TCP/IP dialog section

Up to SIX I think or is it eight ?

Anyway you can put in IP numerical format DNS entires for MORE than ONE ISP -- per Profile.

I am not sure if MS reads them in sequence or reads them ALL into the DNS cache / Routing Table

Whatever -- it WORKS

No problem.
You certainly made it easier to troubleshoot the issue with all the screenshots and other info you provided. A lot of people don't provide enough info and that makes troubleshooting difficult. Also, a lot of people don't actually follow the instructions given to them where you did everything as requested which certainly sped up the process. Anyway, glad you got it sorted out.
