Or get somebody to pay for the car, and you pay that person back in monthly instalments?

Thats a lot of trust for someone who has been blacklisted.

I take it the blacklisting is a big thing and not some overdue Edgars account that can be settled for R900?

Don't do this either way - this coming from someone who's been burnt from both ends.

I financed a car for a friend who was blacklisted. Less than one year later, he fell in arrears to the tune of R7000, and the bank was calling me to repossess the car. I paid the R7000, and took the car from him - from then on, I paid the instalments myself. Last year, I tried to sell the car but the seller's finance fell through the mat. Because he so much wanted the car, we came to an agreement where he would pay the instalments. Anyway, the end of that was that he had the car for 5 months, only paid for one month, and now I'm taking him to court for the rest.

So, don't do this either way, not for family, not for friends, not for ANYONE.

Not even your dear mother, who carried you for 9 months, went through 34 hours of labour and took you home wrapped in a blanket?

Mind you, my brother is currently doing this for my sister; my sister got blacklisted for doing the very same thing for her then bf

I, however, am keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out; not going there again though :(

If you blacklisted, eish!

But there are people who can help, I see the ads all over the CapeAds, so those not in CPT should check Junkmail newspaper too.

hi

Please assit - in need of a car but blacklisted

I know some car dealers do inhouse finance for people who are blacklisted.
I once saw a board advertizing it near Krugersdorp. I can maybe get you the number over the weekend if you want.

Are Blacklisted and listed as a slow payer the same thing?

No, blacklisted means yo've had a summons for the money and a judgement against you. Slow payer is simply not paying on the month to month basis.

You are in for some serious legal costs hiring an expensive lawyer to get the listing null and void on some minor technicality, or you could rather save the money and buy your new wheels cash.

Going for the loan sharks feeding of blacklisted people is not a good idea - they factor the risk of dealing with the average blacklisted person into their finance fees.

We will see a lot more of this sort of thing happening what with everything getting more and more expensive :(
