NeoConnect pricing details

P2P is currently not throttled at all. I highly doubt it will be until they can afford to.

What part of UNshaped don't you guys seem to understand?

I don't work for Neotel. It's it infuriates that you guys just complain about everything. Look at the positives for heavens sake.

The more people support them, the more pressure is put onto telkom. You can't expect the world yet do nothing to help.

A good question to ask would have been whether you get a static ip or not.

Qwik, I am in full agreement with you, I have not seen this much negativity about a good thing. Reminds one of the analogy of offering the finger but then having your arm eaten.

Oh well, I suppose there will always be detractors until bandwidth is free????

I'm a 'no go' at the moment.

- 24 month contract (NO WAY) or R2000? for the hardware.

- Forking out big $$$ for hardware is a 'no no'. Why can't it be cheaper? The cheaper you can sell it the more customers you'll get Neotel???

- No Internet while on voice.. (Sorry this is the biggest nail in the coffin for me)

Maybe another couple of years down the line and we'll have something better and cheaper.

Something that is cool though is the R1000 uncapped option. This is a good deal but R1000 a month is a bit steep for the avarage Joe. Will keep this in mind though and see what happens with Neotel. I might go for this but will need to think about this for a couple of months.

The offers really arent bad at all!! Just a pity that bloemfontein is still far from having any coverage at all!

I plan to share the R1000 unlimited with my neighbour.
R500 each is very affordable

R1000 steep for 2.4mbps Broadband uncapped? - you gotta be kidding!

i'm paying R1300 for 384kbps uncapped (R999 for Openweb & the balance telkom)

Everyone is complaining that the contract comes with bundled voice that they will NEVER use and then they complain that the device will disconnect when they USE it. LOL

even if you don't use the bundled minutes its still the cheapest broadband in south africa!

:D :D :D - i'm so looking forward to the other operators pricing responce to this... ESPECIALLY TELKOM!!!!!

Even with the faults Neotel has at the moment, there is a market for what they're punting and it would be wise to sit back and watch for a wile before jumping onto this cat's back!

No, it's not. It might be the best value for money, but it's not the cheapest.

I can get adsl for R169 at cybersmart, plus the line rental of R120 = R289. And that's what most people will look at - how much it costs overall, not what the speed is or how many Gb are included.

i'm not talking about the low end bracket, I'm talking about the R999 bracket sweetcakes!

Neotel is not yet at that stage where I will even consider moving to them. Plus their line speed is pretty crap.

Crap?

Only thing that can compare is Telkom's 4mb lines.

Don't mention hsdpa I've known ANYONE who gets hsdpa speed for more than a few seconds without going to gprs speeds for a few seconds then to 3g speeds.

iBurst is 1mb(If you're very lucky).

So please tell me what have you been smoking? Must be some good stuff.
