When will they ever start to cover Centurion,The Reeds area
Take 2 minutes and check your coverage again.
I'm in The Reeds as well and have been checking regularly. Just last month after going back and forth a few times, I got them to admit that they can only tell you that coverage is planned for your area 3 to 6 months before the time.
Last week I discovered I am now covered!!! Yay for coverage, not so much for their planning/communication.
I was planning to move ISP at the end of the month anyway, guess I'll now move to Neotel.

Nope, there will be a 10GB and 15GB initially which will cost in the region of R599 (for the 10) as I have tested and queried. Ladies and gents, I beleive this is a winner.
I hope its cheaper than this or at least get more data per cap. R 60 per GB is not that cheap if you compare it to the other ISP, http://www.hellkom.co.za/isp-prices/10gb-adsl/. I would rather pay extra for the line rental and know that your Internet connection will not be effected when it starts to rain.

Telkom managed to put the junction boxes at the bottom of a steep hill, in a dip.
When it rains, DSL is off more than on.

I was thinking the same thing. All the fuss about Neoflex when their best product is actually already in the market = Prime uncapped. They say they are not going to have an uncapped option for this Neof*** of theirs. Is it a coincidence that they over-bill all limited packages and now they just happen not to have an unlimited option for Neoflex.
Here are the reasons (in my esteemed opinion) - 1. They have made a lot of noise about 2000 free minutes and smses in the Prime Unlimited package. Now, without all that nonsense, they know that they will have to be cheaper and they are not willing.
2. As long as they can overbill usage, their seemingly cheaper rates will just be a lie. For instance, they may say : 600 for 10GB, which seems okay...but then they bill you for 15GB with the rest at R80. That is 600 + 400 for 10GB. Can somebody tell me how this is better than the Prime Uncapped at the same price? They won't give you uncapped on this product, because then they will have to make it cheaper than Prime Uncapped and it is impossible to overbill.
I think the dark horse in all this is actually Telkom. I think Telkom has shown that it can be cheaper than all players in all packages.

I agree, to a degree.
Thing is that Neotel's national fibre runs on speeds of 1GB, if I'm not mistaken. They have the backhaul capacity to run CDMA2000 sucessfully, just don't have a submarine cable that can back it up.
That's where Seacom comes in later this year.
If Neotel get their act together, expand coverage and put up towers, then they should be good.
If not. They're in for kuk. Because as soon as Seacom lands and is operative. The rest of the competition is going to blow Neotel out of the water. (This is me being optimisitic)
Why I say this, is because, VC and MTN specifically.
Already have a national network for 3G.
And if market speculation is correct on "extended caps for the same price", then Neotel is going to be left in the wake of the 2 major cellular operator's data network.
All VC and MTN have to do is plug into Seacom's "reduced wholesale goodness" and market away. The infrastructure and coverage is already there. Seacom will only compliment their network.
So Neotel catch a wake up and get moving!

November came and went, with no word from you lot.

If the holiday season necessitated a January release date, your planning and PR is up to kuk.

I was told first week of November, and then end of November.
Since NeoPromise is creative with the way they use English words, I have to ask if a week to them means within 7days, or like a Biblical week? (1 day = 1000 years)
And as others have asked: have they sorted out their billing / data-measuring problems yet?

Unless things have changed from their original announcement, no, there won't be an uncapped option for this.
Their claim was that the previous system, being USB, was for one computer only and now with ethernet ports, multiple users at one location on one line will saturate their bandwidth. Or something, I personally don't get the logic.
Anyways, unless they fix this, and I agree with the other posts about not creating an unlimited offer due to then having to lower their pricing compared to the Neoprime offer, they're not going to get the uptake I think they are/were hoping for.

+1 Agree 100%. If they don't use this opportunity to capture a segment of the market, they are going to sukkel to get it later. Something tells me they are going to adopt the attitude of MTN when they landed... don't make waves, just slow but steady numbers, otherwise your well established competition will just lower their prices long enough to blow you out of the water completely. I just don't think it's doing them any favours in the PR department.
I reckon that if you are happy to pay the R413 for the "up to 4Mps" access and the R165 for the analogue line then go ahead.
As for data, I downloaded 4 full movies in one day using torrents which far outstrips the experiences i have had with our three 4MB DSL lines.
Maybe it is not Neotel that are preventing the uncapped but rather ICASA? Can you imagine an uncapped service in this country running at 3.1 down and 1.8 up at below 2K?

Well if they go the route that you make mention of, then it's not an operator that I am looking for.
I'm looking for something exciting, vibrant and new.
I'm looking to say and feel that I'm proud of being with the SNO and that I want to spread the word for them.
At current levels - not feeling that way at all.
I'm actually getting rid of my DSL line at the end of Feb and will be going 3G in the meantime.
And depending on how satsified I am with 3G and if pricing/extended caps come into play after June of this year (Seacom), Neotel may well be losing out on at least one customer.
I can't sit around waiting for a tower to pop-up near me.
They've had their license for years demmit.
To now say that municipalities are holding up the roll-out in Cape Town, is ludicrous.
I would've hoped they would have had all of the red tape out of the way while they were waiting on spectrum allocations from ICA(N)SA.
Were they just sitting around playing with themselves at that stage?
I think all the hype that has been around Neotel and Seacom is going to be short lived because of their lack of coverage at the moment.
For VC, MTN, Telscum and the others, it's simply a matter of "Plug and Play".
