Neoflex Router issues

Hey everyone

Ive been experiencing some weird router issues which i would like to find out if anyone else has experienced this or know how to fix it (I have the Neoflex router)

PROBLEM 1
Basically I have 2 wireless devices connecting to my router and my pc is connected using a cable. The wireless devices are my Xbox and my smartphone (Xperia).

Basically what happens is if one wireless device connects to the network while another wireless device is already connected, after a minute or so the router just bombs out and all wireless traffic fails. I also cannot connect any new devices to the wifi at this stage, and no network traffic is put through on devices that is already connected.
(my PC can still access the internet though, seeing that it is on a cable connection to the router - so the issue seems only wifi related)

The only thing that i can physically see when this issue occurs is that on close inspection, the wireless light on the router is flashing very fast, so fast that from a distance it looks like the light is on.

Only solution that works is to reset the router, but it still means i can only connect 1 wireless device at a time...

PROBLEM 2
Basically I can be doing anything on the internet and then at random times I get a 'limited connection' notification in Windows. The 'connect' light on the router still shows a connection, and signal strength is also green.
Connecting a single wireless device to the network (to avoid Problem 1) also results in no internet connectivity, so it does not seem to be something Windows related...
Restarting the router results in a working connection again, but only for a random amount of time (usually a few minutes) before it then does the same thing again.


I'm unsure if the 2 problems relate to some form of router defect/failure so i am very keen to give the router back to Neotel and demand a new one, but if it is something on my side, I would like to try to fix it first.

Any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated.

my neoflex has been randomely down since saturday - are you sure its just not neotel issues.

I have a similar setup, with one pc and xbox connected via ethernet, then 2 laptops and wii connect via wireless and then since saturday the connection has just been ****.

You need to keep resetting the router to connect - the problem though is not with your router or your settings, its with neotels signal - you will need to log a call and get a reference number - make sure you get a reference because none of the calls I did on Saturday or Sunday were even logged in.

Had similar issues about a month ago, and then it was fine for a month and since saturday they just cant get it to work...something is just ****ed with the neoflex service at the moment
 
Well for Problem 1, the issue is definitely not a Neotel network error, seeing that my pc can connect fine through ethernet when the wireless problem occurs.

For problem 2 it could be.
I only recently started to experience this error (since last week Thursday/Friday I would say). According to my testing when this issue occurs, it looks like a router problem but it could possibly be network related - not sure how to test router vs network...
It is also too intermittent to really test effectively.

A Neotel technician was scheduled to arrive at my place last week around Friday to do some testing on my connection because of fluctuating speeds and latency (this was for a prior request), but no one showed up...
 
I have had the same issue this weekend on my neoflex .....

This is besides all the other crap.
 
Well the support is getting better and better.

Is this company run by a total bunch of morons ?
Phoned now.

They are unable to log my call.
There is no manager on duty.
They are unable to help me until the morning.
This is all told to me by a helpdesk person called "Vincent" who refuses to give me a surname or a reference number.

This is besides another call I have logged about them changing my coverage. For over 2 weeks they have been promising a site visit with NOTHING being arranged yet.

AJ? Didn't you promise me some feedback two months ago? Never heard from you again! I have the same issues with my router. But I'm quite sure it's only because of the network. It works 100% when the network is "working". Mostly we have to reboot the crap out of it just to get online. But it's all good. As soon as the router breaks because of the on/off game, I'm going to come get a new one.
 
NeoFlex issue

I have been having a similar issue since Saturday, but not too severe. I have an Xbox connected via LAN, Laptop(Win 7) connected on Wireless.
The Xbox is connected fine, not dropping at all. The Laptop shows a limited connection every now and again, sometimes comes back, other times have to reset router. It is not Win 7, as I can connect fine to the Router with the Laptop, and the Xbox does not drop from Live.
Hope it adds some info...
 
Still waiting to hear from any Neotel rep.....

Edit : Just tried to phone them again now to log the call for the intermittent internet as well as follow up on the changed coverage call ...

And Surprises.....

Their system is down again ? ( Still ? )
I am really beginning to wonder at who they have running this company. It is now 2 days I am unable to log the call about internet dropping every few minutes for about 15-30 seconds each time.

Neotel is going to drive me crazy , if its not f@&#ng Telkom then its Neotel.
One day im online then 5 days Offline HTF does that work.

Neotel better up their game or they will fail like Iburst!!

I know they are a new company and all but the service is utterly k@k , the helpdesk
cant even supply me with decent info only "I think so" what BS....
