I download about 10GB's a month... it's all worth it
All international download? And what if you want to download more than 10Gb?
is R70GB, charged per MB, so you could call it roll over bandwidth.
It's all international and then when you go over your 10GB you are charged 7c per Meg (not 100% sure how the billing will work though)

Why does everyone say this is beyond their budget? Before Neotel everyone would complain about how much they pay to Telkom, and if you had even a 384kb line with 5GB and Telkom line rental you were already paying at least the same as for this service, where you get much more.
What do you mean, do you realise how much cheaper they have come in? It's already R50 cheaper, then add 10GB of bandwidth. The cheapest you get that is for is R450. So it's a R500 difference, I think that is substantial enough to make most people want to move over.
Well I'm on that package and I'm thinking of moving just for the 10GB and no Telkom line rental. I just can't afford enough bandwidth with SAIX.
Another thing, why does everyone expect so much higher caps? Neotel can't really do anything wrt international bandwidth pricing atm. 10GB at that price is actually very good seeing as they have to go through SAT3 the same as Telkom do. There is no way they could have just left it uncapped or gone much higher for the same price, yet everyone expects this.

I think one of the biggest advantages is actually the out-of-bundle rate for bandwidth. It is a first in the market at these rates - multiple times cheaper than any other per-MB rate from the mobile players or iBurst and cheaper than any ADSL provider to the best of my knowledge.

I left the device on for the last 36 hours, made two calls, and the power is still at 3/4 bars. It looks like the battery life is good, but I hope a few other guys will do more in-depth testing.
I doubth that standard faxing will be possible...but maybe the Neotel can clear up all of these Q's. Will shoot through an email after compiling a list...

I really don't understand why everyone's complaining. This isn't their ONLY offer. I'm sure they'll bring out something for the internet only people, which, frankly, I'll be happy to take. Roll-over bandwidth(well, in effect) and a larger amount of data included in the package than with Telkom's, is a pretty good deal, I reckon. I just don't want all the other gunk. R300, all included, with 5gig of data a month would be a good deal compared to what we have available to us now and when Seacom lands, pricing for data should drop as well, making uncapped or at least 20-30gig/month at the same rate, a very real possibility.
At 1pm today I'm hauling out the champagne because we finally have a consumer offering from our very own SNO ... I wasn't 100% certain I'd see the day and I feel like it's an achievement for SA, especially with Ivy making things so damn difficult the whole time.
The prices are good and for people who wanted more Gigs they now have it (that would be me btw
) ... it's a great day for SA telecoms IMO!
@ Fudzy ... rpm isn't an agent but all the journalists got a test unit to try out.
