Neotel Launched

Well I just could not resist.

Went to their site and used the "Contact Us" page to send them a welcome massage.

Hope they kick telscums ass!!!

And no, I do not care if telscum learns from their mistakes and do an about turn. I will NEVER support them if I can avoid it. In fact I will go out of my way not to support them.

Welcome Neotel :D

You must all understand 1 thing...that is that Neotel has not yet been alive long enough to have made any mistakes...so they know that, unless you are a telkom-nazi, you will have nothing bad to say. At this point in time, telkom know that most people will only have negative feedback so they just dont go there anymore. I telkom guy phoned me and asked me if i minded answering some question about Telkom, I was in my state coz its not often I get to tell them how ridiculous they are, but all he asked me was about the quality of service that I recieved from a guy who i had just spoken to about a line-upgrade, who as it happens, was very helpful.......

Nice logo and all... unfortunately until ISP's start offering Neotel's ISP wholesale bandwidth its a guessing game as to cap and costs.

I just hope it won't be an equivalent price/cap offering..I remember reading a while back that they didn't want to go into a price war with telkom.

I hope it won't just be more of the same ala mtn/vodacom/virgin/cellc.

Only time will tell.

I'm just so glad they changed their name.

SNOT was not really too "appetizing".......

"Neotel said it would provide international internet connections for commercial customers immediately". Taken from the Business Report sept 1. Surely that means ISP's as well. So we should start seeing account prices drop soon.

Apparently Neotel's international bandwidth is more expensive than even ISP's such as IS, or Verizon that essentially buy their stuff from Telkom.

Go figure...

If that's the case then NOTel may as well close its doors right now - whether NOTel likes it or not this is a very price-sensitive market and no amount of guavamint protection & market tampering will convince wholesale consumers [ISPs] to consume bandwidth at higher than Telkodemonopolies SAIX prices - simply bcos retail consumers of bandwidth would not be prepared to pay more, which equates to no customers & a crap business model at the NOTel wholesale level.

there are worse broadband providers than telcom like this one in england called talktalk, compared to them telkoms are very advanced i guess!

With of course the major difference that talk talk was offering free broadband and over there you actually have a CHOICE.

I don't buy that at all - no other broadband provider in the world is worse than Telkodemonopolies!
