I didn't know it was up.
The same company that keeps chopping up the telephone lines in my area... and the water pipes...Perhaps my curiosity is getting the better of me, but I would like to know which company actually caused the breakage of Neotel's fibre in that area, as well as the other similar recent incidents mentioned in the news article:http://mybroadband.co.za/news/Telecoms/6598.html

Everyone is making very valid points. I personally believe that most of the negative comments are due to frustration that has been creeping in. Over the last few months, we have heard things like overcharging of data, drop in reliable signal, Neoflex promises, bad service problems, etc. etc.
In lieu of another reasonably prices service provider, and constant feedback to keep the consumers informed, what else can we us customers do except complain?
Neotel Rep, welcome back after a long absence. Could you please give us an indication as to whether you will be answering some of the other threads (even if you just tell us “no”, that will also suffice)?
It seems that a combination of media hype and one or two individuals blew a relatively minor incident out of proportion.
This was a localised access fibre break. It did affect some local customer circuits connected to the specific fibre, but there was no question of it affecting a larger area. Also, all the enterprise services affected were kept within the availability parameters of their respective Service Level Agreements<SNIP>
No offense, but things happen, there will be down time, it's a fact of life, it happens to everyone, Vodacom, MTN, Telkom etc...
Professional companies will do only 1 thing... GET IT FIXED ASAP.
Stop moaning that your p0rn is downloading... go spend time with the family... if you run a business, have a back up plan... just get over it!
Hey Neotel rep nice to see you commenting againMaybe you can give some much needed attention to some of the threads in your companies section HERE

Who are you again ?
Doubt it, the only time they log in is for PR and damage control.
Nothing really interactive from them as yet
Fsckin' aye!
I am in 100% agreement, we were talking downtime of about 2-3 hours, nothing like your DSL or PRI lines being down for 6 weeks. The speed at which they fix everything is the true indication of service. Other issues like overbilling etc happen in just about every company as far as I am aware.
