Neotel network speed degradation update

This morning my downloads were going at 180KB/s but is now back to 50KB/s. This is on neoconnect prime. Gardens, Cape Town
 
My connection has been semi stable for most of the day. Still can't get speeds over 100kbps though. . .

PN 320

However I have realized that when my phone is on standby, it is in EVDO mode, but as soon as I connect it switches to 1X mode. As I have it 1X mode is for voice right? So why would it switch to that mode when the connection is established? Something that I also notice is that when connected to the internet my phone would randomly let out 3 beeps and display "Battery Full" for some reason. I have no idea if this is to do with the slow speeds or not. My device has worked properly for about 3 months now on the prime package. Any details in regard with my prob would be greatly appreciated!
 
Upload speed has gone down south in a major way and high latency

Why am I paying for a service that feels less like broadband and more like dial-up? I keep on having to disconnect and reconnect. FFS!!

Going off topic here: Why not see about getting a replaced phone? Your fault might be faulty?
 
Hi all,

I had a good weekend with Neotel - most of the weekend (say, 90%) of it was spent with my line speed doing 100KB/s or a little more, it would peak at 150 now and again.

So, whatever Neotel did (if they did anything) - please, don't mess it up again!
 
I also had a great weekend. My latency on WoW never topper 800ms and was yellow most of the time. Network speeds were also decent. Lets hope this is a result of Neotel dealing with the problems.

hmmm sounds like they are on their way to sorting out their NW....now just for them to cover my area....
 
I had a few hours yesterday when it was acceptable - I actually managed (for the first time in the 8 or so weeks I've had the service) to download an iso image in a reasonable time without disconnections.

HOWEVER, from about 1600 yesterday afternoon there were disconnections and rubbish speedtests (100kbps) again.

sigh.
 
I was able to download some stuff, but the speeds were really crap mostly. At least I didn't have any disconnects.

Dude... 100KB/s is good! very good! You should be grateful, I was getting 20-30KB/s for a long time!
I'm happy to finally get my 'proper' (acceptable) speed of 100KB/s!

Gdiza, read his post again. Said 100kbps, note the lower case b. About 12.5 KB. :p
