Neotel network speed degradation update

Last night my connection stalled about 3 times. It said it was connected but I had no response - so had to reboot and then it worked fine. Otherwise, speed was decent. About 60KB/s
 
My speeds last night were quite decent - around the 120 - 150KB/s mark (this was only after about 7 in the evening). Downloaded about 100MB's in about 12 - 14 minutes.

and after rebooting the device (and retrying several times)...

Download Speed: 58 kbps (7.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 546 kbps (68.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Windows 7 & Neotel

I have been running Windows 7 build 7057 for 3 days now and my neotel connection has improved 4x. Last night I was getting 300KB/s for hours on end, average DL is 90KB/s over the three days and it has not dropped the connection yet, just keeps on going! 200KB/s is the norm but I suppose it also depends on what speed the server can transmit the data. But still it is dam fast compared to XP Pro With max DL rates of 120KB/s.

Just downloaded 350MB in 40min!!! :p

Maybe you guys that are willing to experiment out there should try Windows 7 and see what it does for you!

P.S: My connection is also shared to my sisters PC who is on facebook 24/7 uploading photos and who knows what else.

Just remove spaces before i105 for link to work.
 
Its in the settings, changed it to megabits per second for some reason.
Down 323kbps
Up 72kbps
Ping 509ms

On my GX620 with Win 7 if rocks, all are set up the same with the same software on each only diffrence is the operating system.

I take it you are using the USB device?

I'm in Kyalami Boulevard Lifestyle Estate Complex, just past the swiss club.
I'm still at work but leaving at 3. I'll post my speed as soon as I get home.

Try installing app from www.logmein.com - works nicely when the neotel connection holds to remotely access your home PC.

Edit:
Just logged on now from work to home PC, average speeds around 20KB/s lots of spiking and drops to 0KB/s. I think PN is 360 - my phone is half hanging through the window to get 2 bars of signal.

Hmmm, I like the fact that speedtest.net allows you to change the format of speeds shown.
 
Hi all

Have had great speeds today (or not "great" but better than 39kbps down I have been experiencing these last few weeks)

Clydesdale Pretoria
PN 320 or 304
RSSI 90
Down: 105kbps
Up: 50kbps

My connection has not dropped like usual. I just hope this lasts! But I have learned not to get my hopes up with neotel. It has been over 2 weeks since my first call to neotel with no technician/engineer contact since then
