@ MDE - I have the Prime Unlimited. So If I can get true 1.8Mb and solid speeds of just over 200K/sec at most times of the day then it will be worth the 2.5k investment. Thinking of getting the Dovado router aswell. Would make things alot easier. and more fun :) ps. getting the same setup as Ushir. The Wilson amp and 15db glassmount antenna.

Apparently its at the couriers and to be delivered today. I can't wait!!!

Will post pix and do a bunch of tests.

THE STUFF JUST GOT HERE!!!! Busy sorting it all out! SOOO Stoked!!

Still stable. Must say; I'm VERY impressed. I can actually start dl'ing stuff at a decent pace now.

TV streaming = win.

Unfortunately hes not very happy chappy at the moment. His connection improved since the time he ordered the amp and the time he received it and hence the amp has made a minimal improvement. It helps alot when u have little to no connection (like myself I had no connection). However, adding an amp to an alreayd good signal only stabilizes it. Still walking him through the set up tho when i get home. Considering he is getting sub 200KB/s speeds on a 2.4mb connection and im getting 200KB/s on a 3.1mb connection he should be happy?

Overall he will get a better connection especially when the tower is congested and it starts kicking off the people with weak signals.

Does an EC/IO of 5 to 6 count as little or no connection?

It shows either a congested tower or a signal with alot of noise. The lower it is the better.

Think of it this way - imagine a sound system. RSSI is like the volume of the speaker. EC/IO is the amount of crackle in the sound (like mp3 vs CD vs radio). Putting the volume up does not decrease the noise.
 
I need to install windows on my mac and run pst... speeds have been dropping a bit for me. I gave my windows laptop to my mom!

Lesson 1: NEVER EVER BUY A MAC!

They are fun for itunes, but for NOTHING else. I'd rather use Linux than windows honestly, but I like to play games. When CrossOver gets good, and starts including man games like HON and COD4 at decent frame rates, Im going to delete my windows partition.
 
Before anyone else asks, yes I do have a mac, and yes its shiney, but it doesn't do games nicely, and no, WoW is not a game. Its a waste of life :p

I disagree! Ive been using a mac for 2 yrs now and i love it =) Ppl must learn to develope for mac! (I dont game on my laptop - thats why i got a ps3 =) )
 
Im off this morning to buy the correct voltage of power supply for the amp. we think it could make a difference. I managed to find the direction for the DRC of 2.4 mb (Level 12 in the axesstel software) now I just need to find a way to position the antenna correctly. its the most difficult part. Ushir and I sat on google chat for hours while I was trying to get it right. The amp provided some boost, but seemed far far the holy grail i was hoping it to be. tho more testing will take place today and more importantly, the mounting.

If I can find the same spot where I got 196K yesterday morning and amplify on that, then I will def get above 200k and hopefully a solid 170 or 180K a sec. that is the goal here.

Have any Prime users recorded speeds of 200K per sec? I would love more feedback I may make a poll or something. cause maybe Im being too ambitious here, tho I know I have a good tower whereby without the amp and the yagi in the right direction I can get 180K+ speeds. Help me out Primers.
