Neotel network speed degradation update

Download Speed: 484 kbps (60.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 69 kbps (8.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
 
It seems to have had a bit of drop. Especially during the peak hours. I cant get more than 80K/s during business hours so far this week :( Constant speeds of 120K/s dl seems too much to ask for.

Taken 2 min ago.

Upload Speed: 69 kbps (8.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

I can only dream of those speeds. When I signed up I had excellent reception and constantly 4 bars and now I live in an area where I need an external antenna just to get half decent speeds... mind you I haven't actually moved:rolleyes:

You're not the only one. Neotel have changed coverage for a few others (myself included) which resulted in bad reception and slow speeds. I now have an external antenna, hence that speed.
 
I dont think an antenna is the only variable. I have two. The Neotel yagi from poynting and then a Wilson glass mount 15db omni, and both of them work just slightly better than the piepie lil thing that comes with the phone. I am getting a DRC of 1.8mbps and still getting 50K/sec speeds at the moment. usually I get over 100K/sec at least.

I also have a Yagi now and my DRC peaks at 1.2mbps but the strange thing is that a few months ago when neotel was working well for everyone I could easily get a DRC of 1.8mbps and that was with the devices antenna:confused: Also, when I signed up I checked the coverage map and it said that everything was excellent and now the coverage map says I need an external antenna for 'high speed' internet. So they make you sign a 2 year contract and after a year they degrade your coverage?:mad:

I am assuming you are on Prime because of the upload speed? That being the case you are achieving the best possible speeds so an antenna won't help
 
I couldn't even get onto the speedtest site this morning. :(

I'm gonna go get my shawtgun....
 
Hey Im in Fishershill too. Well I guess since we all use the tower in Oriel that we are all still screwed. was hoping things would be back and working when I got back from my lil trip :(

I think we are all gonna have to log complaints. If Every single Neotel subscriber logs a complaint maybe they will realize how big this problem really is and be forced to do something!
 
It funny that when peoples connections work then the forum is quiet but when we want to complain this is forum is busy
