Neotel network speed degradation update

U know, i have neoflex which is 3.1mbps and i have never got a drc of 3.1.... maybe this calls for another day of "move the antenna!".

Im off this morning to buy the correct voltage of power supply for the amp. we think it could make a difference. I managed to find the direction for the DRC of 2.4 mb (Level 12 in the axesstel software) now I just need to find a way to position the antenna correctly. its the most difficult part. Ushir and I sat on google chat for hours while I was trying to get it right. The amp provided some boost, but seemed far far the holy grail i was hoping it to be. tho more testing will take place today and more importantly, the mounting.

If I can find the same spot where I got 196K yesterday morning and amplify on that, then I will def get above 200k and hopefully a solid 170 or 180K a sec. that is the goal here.

Have any Prime users recorded speeds of 200K per sec? I would love more feedback I may make a poll or something. cause maybe Im being too ambitious here, tho I know I have a good tower whereby without the amp and the yagi in the right direction I can get 180K+ speeds. Help me out Primers.

I used to get 210kB/s when it worked 110%, and my RSSI was 54. Now my RSSI is 74 and EC/IO is 5-6, but I still manage 120kB/s. Cant wait for amp :D
 
I got crazy speeds just now with just the yagi and no amp. Hit the DRC of 2.4 and got 197K per sec download via Neotel test. I took a pic with my iphone.

So i thought, ok Ive got a good position so let me add the amp and it should give me a solid 2.4 drc. Instead im getting a solid 1.8 and results as follows.

Test 1
Download Speed: 1254 kbps (156.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 102 kbps (12.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Test 2
Download Speed: 1059 kbps (132.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 84 kbps (10.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Test 3
Download Speed: 1398 kbps (174.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 72 kbps (9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Test 4
Download Speed: 1213 kbps (151.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 71 kbps (8.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Test 5
Download Speed: 1193 kbps (149.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 84 kbps (10.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

All these tests were done between 1 and 2 minutes apart.

The connection seems alot more stable, tho I really want to pinpoint the antenna direction and try lock onto the DRC of 2.4 which is the theoretical max of the Prime package. We will see if its really possible to break the 200K mark with more than just a bandwidth flare or burst. :)

PS. For those who care...Im getting an average of 150K on usenet right now.

The joke of the day. There is definately a relationship between RSSI and DRC. I am currently sitting on the max DRC of 2.4 for the prime...and yet my rssi is higher because Im not using the amp right now...and so my speeds are at like 70K. hmmm. :(

Even the upload speeds have to to blazers. Maybe I dont know or understand what this piece of equipment is meant to do, because it sure as hell aint doing what I thought it would. grrr.
 
Great test result man. Do you get over 200K/sec?

Yeah 200KB sometimes @ about 11-11.30pm, Neotel speedtest:

Download Speed: 1072 kbps (134 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 71 kbps (8.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
 
This evening without amp and just with 15db omni pointed in somwhat the right direction...

Just taken this now. Interesting at how not bad it is and Im only getting a DRC of 1.2288mb

Weird.

Keeping on redoing the rest every 2 minutes...seem to be getting an average of around 1000kpbs aka 120K/sec and upload of 10K/sec or 90kpbs. Not too terrible.

ps. Not too sure but think I kinda hit a record upload speed tonight haha

Now if the upload speed was even 30 KB/s it might be alot better internet experience.
Anyone get faster upload speeds? whats the max you have managed to get??
