Thank you to all who have provided feedback, data logs and reports regarding the speed degradation issue.

Your information has helped us put together an action plan to improve performance on the network. This action plan requires changes to the network (potentially some downtime) to be carried out in the affected areas and as such will be performed on a weekend.

More details will be provided as to which areas will be affected and the date / time of the planned maintenance once they have been finalised.

Your feedback following the maintenance will be appreciated to ensure that performance has improved.

Neotel.

Thanks Neotel

Are you able to give any details as to what went wrong and how this will be fixed?

Please make sure the tower/s covering the Carlswald, Midrand area are on your list!!

We will have a full statement on the cause and solution in due course.

We are awaiting a confirmed list and will inform you in due course.

Neotel Rep,

Well done for the update,

Just please ensure the problem is corrected by the end of the weekend.

Im willing to take this downtime to achieve a fix

However if it doesn't fix the problem, Neotel will look like a bunch of fools.

Neotel, thanks again, for everything you've done for 'us' on MyBB and for the rest of the Neotel users.

PS: If you're ever in CPT, you got my number, I owe you a few rounds of drinks for what you've done for me alone ;) and the rest of us.

I don't know if I 'm speaking too soon - but tonight there were no problems with my internet connection.
The intermittent spike, but that is to be expected.
International traffic was normal - the latency to international sites fine, and the download speeds within the threshold of expectation.

Thanks to the Neotel rep - who really did a great job - let's hope it stays this way...

Just curious about what the error was/is?

PS. I'm living in Robindale, Randburg with the Neoflex Data 10GB option.

My Neotel is flying tonight (Somerset West) - I was not really watching myBB the last few days but I too noticed serious lag this week. Thanks Neotel.

Kyalami

BTW, thanks for calling me and explaining the issue.
I'm glad your are tackling it with such determination.

Thumbs up for Neotel Rep!

Hi all,

Please note that I did not state that the maintence is scheduled for this weekend - that has to be confirmed along with the areas that maybe affected. I should have an update for you by COB Friday latest.

Thank you Neotel rep.

I'd like to add that last night was the first night that I enjoyed my internet experience with no hiccups what so ever since the 1st of February.

EDIT: Let's hope it stays this way.

P.S. Which area's are going to be affected by the maintenance and approximate times?

Hi NeoTel Rep,

I am in the GreenstoneHill Area, the speed is horrific as well, I can not get more than 100kb/s when running the speed test on your site. Please make sure these towars are on your list for maintenance as well...

Thanks a mil in advance....
