Neotel - Operator state and plans for the future

Hi There

With the begin the agents for Seacom Their data prices are higher the ISP buying data from Seacom threw them. I begin watch there prices and they have now changed since thier launch.

PRE PAID Data R208 per GIG

THERE CEO must be smoking ROCKS at te speeds they have.

I may have not given adequate perspective on the 512kbps comment, so I'll try to explain it and leave you all to make of it what you will (it's not my job to interpret the facts for you after all :-)).

Mr Panday made the 512kbps comment in response to a question about the pricing "sweet spot" of low-end broadband. When suggesting price points of R200 and R300 per month he spoke about the term "broadband" being misused and that people would need at least 512kbps connections to participate in the latest trends in Internet usage, mentioning video specifically.

To put that in further context he said that he would love to give people "fat pipes" at low prices if he could, using the example of someone in the US paying around $54 per year for a high capacity broadband connection.

Anything more I say about the conversation would either have to be interpretive or relaying it word-for-word.

My contract expires inJan. Come back telkom all is forgiven.....

"Neotel would be making a significant announcment on their prepaid servicest in the next two weeks"
Is this prime going prepaid?

Neo???? Who??
honestly

those on neoprime, pls get back to using ADSL 4MB uncapped, its cheaper and faster
those on neoflex, for gods sake, ditch it, more effective with gold uncapped from openweb
those on neoWimax, OMG please use ur calculator and move over to ADSL uncapped
those on neo Fibre thingy, pls for the last time, 1Mbps is not fibre speed, move back to ADSL
those on neo just for cheaper calls, pls get a cellc contract for R49 pm and get 100 minutes for free

NeoMassiveFAIL!!!!

I'm sorry to say this but Panday sounds like a bull****ter.... how can any1 in his position be so oblivious... it's almost like they just assume that consumers are all uninformed about what's really happening in the industry...

the only thing neotel was successful at so far was outfailing iburst.

HI there Jan

Your low end offering does now even compete with dial up your prime its below 1mbps and NEOtel is the Agent from Seacom and your data is more expensive that Afrihost and Axxess GET Real WAKE UP and SMELL THE COFFEE either NO TEL does something fast to save face or you will keep running at a loss and TATA will close you down. USE PREPAID and make some great offerings and save face. Give use naked Broadband line of a min of 512 and let us choose our own ISP`s. Helkom is now bring out a 10mpbs your prime does not have a stable speed.

I AM WAITING FOR CELLC OFFERING

We waited years for the second network operator to arrive and they have had zero impact on the market. Stop screwing around and do something.

Neotel does suck something horrible, but there are a few things in their defense, specifically being forced to use wireless technologies to reach the residential customer. The nature of wireless means that the service levels were going to suck, end of story. If you get semi-acceptable wireless internet from any provider, consider yourself damn lucky.

I'd be willing to forgive, forget and give Neotel a second chance in the case of LLU to see what they can do as a fixed line operator.

Please don't waste your time I am close to Alberton with full coverage, Applied 8 weeks back and no reply from them I have now just cancelled. NEOTEL is 1000 times worse then Telkom. No body should sing up with NEOFAIL.
I applied 3 times, once online & twice via their call center!!!
Found them to be same with the Midrand area - just no interest from their call center staff (BEE again?). Our company even offered to be a re-seller of their products when they first started about 4 years ago (they had asked for re-sellers!!!). No answer!
About several months ago, surprise! surprise! they have a few people outside our local Spar (Ranjesfontein) trying to sign on new suscribers - make you think!!!
