Neotel WTF!

Neotel Have to pay for every device - I would do a deposit as well - they are ourlaying a ton of money for the device & the deposit if anything would help them get some revenue back into their account. to cover the cost of the device.

Then why not let the customers buy the device outright and use prepaid?

The cost of importing the device coupled with the weak rand against the dollar will push the price up and out of reach of many - thats why!

Nice try but, not good enough.

In other words, South Africa should not sell Mercedes Vehicles because it is out of reach of many, South Africa should only be selling Tata's .... :D

GET REAL

I called Neotel this morning to find out about my application etc.
Nothing, but the lady said to call at 4pm - so I called now and the guy told me that things are going well with my application and things should happen today and they'll call me to confirm my delivery address etc.

I doubt any of this is going to happen - if I get a call, I might actually cry!

Me and Neotel are not off to a good start - that's for sure - I want to see Neotel put some actions to their words (Empty promises)

Lol. Sell it for cash and those who can afford to buy it can use it on prepaid. Also have the contract and subsidise the cost and then people who can't afford it outright can use it on contract. Win - Win...

Not to ruin your day but wait until the device breaks. Thats when the fun starts...

Well if vehicle finance didn't exist, then i would suspect mercedes would disappear, are you able to buy a mercedes cash?

That is exactly what critical is saying, the cash price of the device would be out of most people reaches... a mercedes is not because we do have a thing called "terms".

Also think about it this way, if you are a youngish company importing (est. Rmillions worth of devices + import or whatever ) wouldn't you find a way to try receive a good chunk of that money in one go.

Selling the device on terms might not bring enough revenue to neotel, which is maybe why they opted for the deposit.

Unless you are the accountant or the firm contracted to Neotel, rather not assume their reasons for the deposit because im sure they have a very valid one.

Just now we won't even have Tata's with your philosophy. :D

Hmmmmmmmmmm, finally without even realizing it, you gave me reason for suggesting that, Neotel have an option to buy the device cash.
Like that they, as you put it, would find a way to recover their money in one go?

You are getting mixed up in your own words, tell me something, are you an accountant? I surely hope not.

I suggest 3 things:

  1. I did not say SAfricans can buy Tata's cash, so don't put words in my mouth
  2. Try actually reading the posts carefully and maybe you will understand
  3. Don't troll by being sarcastic. You replied to Critical's post with a ridiculous example/comparison and I'm merely pointing that out.

And just FYI, i am not an accountant and proud of it

Okay! UPDATE!

Neotel didn't call me yesterday as the consultant said.
This morning at some ungodly hour, the R1000 came off my bank account.
I'm going to wait till about - what... 10am? Then I'll call them and find out what is happening.

I called Neotel this morning, because the consultants I spoke to on Wednesday said that I'd hear from them "latest" Friday.

My payment for R1000 deposit went through but according to their system there is a "delay" (sigh)

Anyways, the lady said that Monday is D-day though I think she's just delaying again.

Neotel and I are off to a lovely start - something tells me I'm going to regret this move!

Ontop of that, I PM'd the Neotel rep and I see he doesn't bother to reply to PM's!

My saga continues!

I phoned Neotel this morning - long story short - they going to find out what is going on with my order (delivery) as their system is buggered and the lady couldn't tell me at the time.

I plan to call them again at 1/2pm if I have no heard from them by then.

When Neotel tell you 'a week' please, plan ahead for 2/3 weeks.
