The app was not available 2 days ago. I had to change my regional settings as Pitbull said and it worked. Well, I just created a new US account and then the app was available to my SA profile.

I also see that one can use eBucks to buy 6-month Showmax voucher linked to your rewards level. I.e. up to 40% of.

If it's through the iTunes store, fixed local price and not unstable rand/dollar rate.
But for how long? How do we know that price won't fluctuate with the exchange rates?

Why would I only want US Netflix when I already use unotelly for many other services besides Netflix?

It was more for the people who only just started using Netflix and wanted to see what it's like on the US side.

Over 3GB bandwidth for an hour of HD Netflix streaming. Ouch for us who aren't on uncapped! Time for H.265 HEVC.

They're going in a different direction - possibly to ensure device compatibility?

Netflix is re-encoding its entire library of using a new technique that automatically identifies what kind of video a given movie or show is—whether it’s a cartoon or live-action movie, for example—and uses that information to intelligently shrink its file size, resulting in bandwidth savings up to 20%.

Gimme proper HD and chromecast on their app and I am there... For now I can see why Netflix is so popular globally.

This is a pretty big piece of the buying decision, access from multiple/varied devices and high quality. I have not bothered to read the specs or dig deeper but Showmax image quality is terrible compared to Netflix or even Crunchyroll.

The device limitations on ShowMax is the main reason why I won't subscribe.

Why do this ? None of the others do this.

I suppose that I'm a bit of a gadget freak, but I have devices all over the house, and the limitations really hamper me.

Waiting for Netflix friendly data deals now.

Lot's of HD streaming really chows the cap a bit :)
