Netgear DGN2200M v2 keeps resetting

I returned the D-Link after having trouble with two of them, and got a Netgear instead ;0) The Netgear also resets every hour or two. I have an older Siemens router that never had a reset in all the time I used it. So, just to make sure, put that back on AND also resets every few hours! Conclusion, must be a line problem...
 
Sitting with the same problem with a twist. I've been using the Netgear router for approximately 3 months with no issues. Using the 300mbps wifi option since the start.

Since Monday the router resets itself on a daily basis. It reverts back to the telkom@guest account and default wifi username:(

Going to call today after work for a swop out.
 
Hi all try getting a version of this router that does not have the telkom firmware on it.

Adds USB storage functionality etc to the router. Pretty worthwhile upgrade, will find out about stability, skipped the last firmware they pushed out because it made the router restart every few hours.

Thanks for the heads-up @peered95! I upgraded an can now use the USB Storage. First tried a 160GB Hitachi in a generic enclosure but it didn't show in the modem config. Then connected successfully to a USB flash drive and a 500 GB Samsung drive in a USB 3 external enclosure. As can be expected, the transfer rate varies between 1 MB/s to 2 MB/s but at least there is some use now for the feature. Now, to see if the upgrade fixed the reset problem :whistle:
 
Do you want to stream HD from the harddrive? Shouldn't that be fine for non hd streaming?
 
I had the issue but a firmware upgrade sorted it out

Ended up selling the router anyway
 
When I bought the DGN2200 router from telkom,the latest Firmware was already installed.The restart issue persisted even after a swap out.

Took it back and got a refund.Will not touch a Telkom branded router ever again.
 
Hmm, I know the telkom one is much cheaper than the one you buy at IC. Maybe they use cheaper parts?

The new firmware was only released in May, I suppose it could've been factory loaded before the public release when you got it in April.

I went to the website to check for newer firmware due to the issue,but the current one on the website was the latest(in April).

Even with the latest firmware, the reset/reboot still persists.

So sad, too bad :cry: A very subjective observation is that I might have fewer resets since I upgraded this morning... BTW, I recently tried my old Siemens modem, which did not have one single reset during all the time I used it, and lo and behold, it also did reset. Methinks a line problem might be blamed.
 
Did a factory reset on the router and going to see if it resets or freezes again so far its alright and faster.
