I upgraded to win 8.1 overnight and netlimiter 3 won't show any traffic movement so I wanted to try and re-install it. Tried the usual add/remove programs bit which just gives me an error and rolls it back. Tried repairing it. Same thing. Tried downloading the test version 4 and that also giving an error.

My problem is every since I installed win 8.1 my traffic on DU Meter is running like crazy. Has to be network traffic judging by the download speeds but I still want to know what's going on under the hood.

Are there any other programs similar to Netlimiter for 64bit Windows?

It's not windows update running either since I disabled that.

HALP!?

None of the above suggestions worked. All CC cleaner did was remove it from the program list. Suppose I can try and run the registry cleaner now. Things are so messed up anyway and heading towards a format I don't have a lot to lose.

quick heads up.. I found that Netlimiter didnt wanna install on Windows 8, gave me some kinda error when installing. Something about not being able to run on 64bit. Which was odd, becasue the month prior I had it running with no issues on a "different version" of windows 8

I was forced to download Netlimiter 4 which is in testing mode still...

edit: and it looks totally crap

Netlimiter 4 wouldn't connect online or something and gave me an error. I'm trying to back my system up for a format now because windows explorer keeps crashing and I can't work without it.

If you can't remove it just rename the .exe then it can't be loaded on startup.

I want to use it though since there is all this internet traffic going on and I don't know what it is.

Task Manager, Performance, Resource Monitor. The Network tab will tell you what's using the bandwidth.

I don't know how to reply and quote from two post so I just want to thank dabean and Rickster. I will try both of these. Just trying to back up some stuff and I'm too scared to lift a finger and open another process because windows explorer crashes even when you just look at it funny.
