Netogy Nova Feedback

Install WiFi Analyzer on a Windows or Android device that's connected to wi-fi, and then check your router's 2.4GHz wi-fi broadcast channel - you may need to go into your router's configuration settings to change the channel if there is a conflict with other router 2.4GHz broadcast channels in your immediate vicinity.

I regularly check wifi quality, from the Tenda app. It fix conflicts too.

But no other box gave/give me any issues through 2 walls 6 metres away.

If possible, try running LAN cables from your router directly to both of your Netogy Nova units - that may eradicate the wi-fi disconnect problem for you.

Another solution is to get an Apple TV.
That’s an option.

It’s very a basic, no frills unit that says what it goes on the box. Rows of icons like the early 2010s - but the main thing is that it works
Didn’t have to muck about with router settings it just worked.
Maybe something like location plays a role. Maybe he’s near an airport and ‘auto’ someone’s switches to a channel that can’t be used? It could be the type of router used as well, where it just opens all channels on auto - yet some could be blocked?

Or it’s the Wifi 5 they use that came out when Obama was still president.

That is not the solution. It's a solid device good performance etc but it's just too restrictive. Android has the ability to side load apps you want.

I am having issues when my Nova is connected to my soundbar HDMI in , it doesn't display anything but if I connect the Nova directly to the TV then it works.

Soundbar is connected to the TV via eArc.

Soundbar is Samsung Q990B.

Anyone having a similar issue?

From my TV I only have two active cables, one to the soundbar (ARC) and the other to a 4 port HDMI switch.

The Nova works perfectly with this arrangement. Soundbar is a JBL and TV is a Samsung.

Maybe a resolution issue?

It shouldn’t be - but it does point to it. When you plug it in the TV, check the resolution.

If 4K, try set to 1080 - or vice versa.

Plug your Nova's HDMI cable directly into one of the TV set's HDMI ports (ignore the HDMI IN port of the soundbar), and ONLY have an HDMI cable from the eARC port of the TV set going directly into the HDMI IN port of the soundbar - then make sure that the TV set, Nova & soundbar all have their HDMI-CEC (ARC) settings on AUTO or ON.

That way, when you turn on the Nova, it should also turn on the TV set & the soundbar as well - and powering off the Nova should then turn them all off as well.

That works but is there any benefit in connecting it to the Soundbar HDMI in?

Also why doesn't it work when connected to the soundbar HDMI in ,could the soundbar be defected?

If you connect a HDMI cable from the HDMI to TV port (eARC / ARC) of the soundbar to the eARC/ARC HDMI port of the TV set, and then plug your Nova into the HDMI 1 port of your soundbar - it should work - also check if the TV & Nova are set to AUTO / ON for their HDMI-CEC configuration menus.

Just use the Source button (2) on the soundbar remote to select the HDMI 1 port (if you want the Nova plugged in there) and select the HDMI input on the TV set that you have plugged the soundbar's HDMI cable into - and it should also give you both picture & sound.

Here's the link for the manual for your sound bar - click here.
