Hi all!

As some of you might know I am a network administrator for a medium sized business located near Muizenberg.

The current network infrastructure including the servers are so outdated and in such a mess *yes it was like that when I took it over.*

The company is planning to basically have someone evaluate and possibly rebuild the entire network from scratch. Considering the scale we need to bring in experts, are there any suggestions/recommendations for this?

My advice is to get one person who assists you with your IT strategy, and another person to implement the solution (i.e. try not have a person sell you stuff and implement a solution). That way you will not end up with a whole bunch of stuff that you do not need, because some overzealous salesman had a shopping frenzy on your account. At the least, get the company to draw up a proper proposal and pay a third party to review it. At the least-least, get a proposal and have other people that you trust review it from a non-beneficial point of view - we can do this for you here
