Never, never never never use Afrihost for a VPS solution

Afriman: have you figured out why over usage notifications were stopped in October? Where you sent me 2 in September and 1 in August (those are the only ones I ever received). Im just curious at what coincidence caused notifications to stop, the month that you hit me with the over usage shark.

You'll have to log that with your account manager. As I mentioned, the info is all there in ClientZone, but the bandwidth notifications are IP specific and you had multiple IP's running on that server.

So Afroman found a standing point and he is just taking it home. You can see it in your clientzone... Its like they replaced the rep with a regex script. Everything can be found in the clientzone... Including why you didnt get the last OOB mail notification O.o

So ghoti lets disregard the fact that it took how many hours to get a ticket response and log another ticket to your account manager.

Im going through the clientzone not sure where you set the bandwidth notifications. IE, if its IP specific how would I add extra IPs to that warning? I dont see any place for me to control those warnings. I am getting lost between the new and the old interface so I could be missing it.

Thit is why I moved my server back overseas. 2c per GB overage fees, what would that have costed you? <$10 lol

Elitehost is best deal I have found locally otherwise I was forced to move back overseas. DigitalOcean (I get ref credit hehe)

 Digital Ocean $10 promo code DIVEIN10 ;)

Digital ocean only allows you one IP per VPS :( I actually have two vps`s with them and love it. Theyre great for single websites but not so great for cPanel servers if you want to resell them for clients to host on.

Elitehost are nice. I wouldnt have got this oob bill. They offer unlimited bandwidth.

I dont know. Its a clients VPS. I dont go through clients stuff. Ive just switched it off for now.

I assume a hacked website. IE. Hacker exploits web site. Uploads some or other phishing page and then spams several million email from the vps telling people to click on the website that is hosted on the VPS.

Why does your client go through a middleman such as your self?

It's on your old ClientZone under myBandwidth :)

I have a question... what if it's not hacked or malware-infested? What will you tell the client then? Did you market it to them as an uncapped solution?

No, I didnt market it to them as an uncapped solution. I sold it in the limitations that I was given. Why on earth would I sell something and give it different specs? :wtf:

Im already contacting debt collectors in the country the client resides in: http://www.ukdebtcollection.com/debt_collectors.htm

There is no place to set those bandwidth notifications. Which is why I am asking about it.

I have:

IP Based (Dedicated) Bandwidth Threshold Notifications: -

I have my server listed there and one IP. So how do I add the other IP to protect myself? Also, is it possible to see per IP usage so I can confirm that it was the 'unmonitored' IP that used the data?

Other people in the future will find this information useful.

.. and another R1200 of my account tomorrow... and I see I will get another R2200 bill in december.

Even though I cancelled and shut down all vps`s.... awesome. Never, ever ever ever again. Ever.

If the VPS truly has been off there should be no reason for an overage bill :(
Please PM me your info.

You guys charge for the excess bandwidth 2 months in arrears or something like that. So instead of getting the bill on the month so I have a chance to stop it, you delay the billing by a couple of months so the client is truly shafted. Like for instance you will be billing me R2200 in December, for bandwidth bill racked up in October.

As predicted, the client has bailed. I guess Ill be out of pocket for R7000. Thank you Afrihost. Merry xmas to you as well.

Eish bra... I dont have a chimney but maybe you can use the sewage line to get to my stockings....

Sorry to hear about the client bud, whats your next step?

Absorb the cost. Never use Afrihost again. Nothing else I can do. I got royally shafted.
